It's okay. I like the Tim Burton-ish atmosphere but the game is just an average beat 'em up/adventure at heart.
I am wondering if the game Medievil is any good. I played a demo for the second one a long time ago and remeber very little. But is the first one any good? I would rather play the first one before the sequal. I always thought it looked cool, but was never really sure on it.

Yeah, the Tim-Burton look is worth the price of admission...
It's cool. Similar to Maximo.
I like Maximo. I like Tim Burton (some times). Sounds like I should give it a whirl.
And now to ask a different question, same question really, but different game.
Is Legend of Legaia any good? I am not a huge RPG fan, mainly due to the fact that I hate most of the battle systems. But LoL's battle system sounds cool (as in you actually do commands), so is it any good? Plus the sequal just came out and looks kinda neat.

My impression of the Legaia from the demo was that its battle system is very similar to Xenogears. I fully recommend Xenogears but Legaia didn't interest me enough to buy it.
The first Medieval is definitely worth it. Great atmosphere and PS graphics. The second Medieval had some changes that made it not as good, such as the fact that when you get hit, if the enemies are still touching you, they drain the hell out of your energy. Sounds like a small thing, but the frequency it occurs ruins it.
Legend of Legaia would have turned out a lot better if the pace of the game was sped up. Battles are slow, random encounters are a little too frequent, and you get little money and experience from fights. This leaves you underpowered and without the equipment to survive. I watched a friend beat it and I'm content. Worth it for $10 or so, but not more in my opinion.

I liked the first Medievil, but never got to play the second one. I bought the first one used for eight bucks years ago and found it to be a solid game with one of the best atmospheres around. It's a perfect game to get into with Halloween coming up.
This reminds me, that I still need to pick up both MedEvil games![]()
I liked Medievil a lot... looking back, it's quite like a 32-bit Maximo (which is a good thing, IMO)And it does have great atmosphere, like Ghouls N Ghosts and Castlevania always had.
