What's the deal with special op soldiers? (ie why would you set them to that?) I'm assuming that makes them tougher? I'm also assuming you might need to set their pay higher?
thanx!

Hey Yourmuchacho, welcome to the Cafe. Smiley

The Special-Ops has the following effect:

'Units acquire experience 50% faster, but rigorous training regimen reduces job happiness by 15%'

If I have my Soldiers, Generals or Policemen on Special-Ops, I always bump up their salaries by a further $2/month.

Great to see you are enjoying the game Yourmuchacho, it has kept many of us amused for a year or so, and my gaming is still going strong. Smiley

Just an addition, I tend to only use Special-Op when I have a rebel problem, and wish my fresh recruits to become experienced Soldiers faster. All the more bullets to fill the rebel scum with. Grin

Keep an eye on the general happiness and job satisfaction of your Soldiers, if Special-Ops is hitting them hard drop it for a few years.

And when you finish all the scenarios what are you going to do? get bored with the game and critisise and throw it away? Perhapes you should spend time trying to make a map of your own for us and for you.. (Since you find green island that easy LOL)

dude you seem to have a bigtime TUDE, as in attitude.  lighten up.  just because i don't like the sims doesn't mean i'm the devil.
i don't like soccer either.  i think it's boring and sucks too.  it might possibly be the worst sport ever invented next to curling.  but i bet there are possibly a billion people in the world who disagree with me.  so what?  that's my opinion.
as for tropico, why would i criticize it?  it's a great game.  just because i think the scenarios are the best part of the game doesn't mean i don't like the random maps as well.
so what if i thought GREEN ISLAND was easy.  for me it was.  i beat it the second time i played it.  i beat RIDE 'EM CABALLERO! the first time i played it.  it was easy.
it took me between 20-30 times to beat FISHED OUT.  that was the hardest scenario for me.

and finally, i've never been into making my own scenarios in any game.  it doesn't interest me.  just like soccer doesn't interest me.
now football on the other hand.......  Grin

Hey, watch it. There's no need to bash curling here. What can beat a combination of darts, shuffleboard, pool, bowling, housework, marbles, baseball, and chess played on a sheet of ice?

I agree, i hate soccer but that was the funniest reply i've ever heard in my life... "Just because i do not like the sims means 'm the devil" LOL!!  Anyway i was just refering to you creating some scenarios for us since you've completed all of them. But perhapes heading down to www.thesims.com and look for a report by a washington post journalist. Read that, its quite long but maybe it'll tell you why the sims is fun and that fixed goals like tropico scenarios are boring.

If I have my Soldiers, Generals or Policemen on Special-Ops, I always bump up their salaries by a further $2/month.

After all or almost all of the individuals in a building have their 'experience gage' completely full, the option is counter productive and had just as well be turned off.

It does NOT make the employees faster or tougher! It is only a training effect.
