Is it a good idea to build multiple entertainment buildings or is it just a waste of money?  How will building multiple smugglers dives, for instance, affect my feasting satisfaction rating?

it depends.if you have always full msugglers dives, then build more, certainly ( though consider building the next level as soon as possible, as your level 2 pirates will soon be level 3, whuich are better served by eaterys and taverns etc. plus all scum recruits are lervel 3 in my experiance, and so you'll need adanced entertainment quickly)

Well, I just played the game recenty and I have a couple of more questions.  Since I don't feel like starting a new thread, I might as well post my questions here.

1) I've recently opened up my smugglers cove and I'm curious to know what exactly "the convoy system" is.
I'm not sure what Severous is talking about.

2) When playing the game, I reserve a part of the island for captives and a part of the island for pirates.
Usually, I make the "pirate section" of the island close to the shore and the "captive section" inland.
However as my pirate population grows, the pirate section expands and threatens to bump up against my
    captive section.  Any suggestions?

3) In one of the games I played, I noticed that there weren't enough pirate homes.  So I reserved more lots
but no pirate came and made a home for himself.  Any explanation as to why?

Thank you and forgive my newbish questions.

Sorry, but just in case you don't know where I first stumbled upon the convoy system, here it is:
