I'm a pirate!

« on: 06/20/06 at 10:59 PM »

I get to 100% and then error "denied access" to readme file!  then after saying continue it replies wrong volume in drive, insert volume Tropico_disc1 and I tried both disc ones and it won't install.  Then says setup.exe has encountered an error and closes.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I used to really enjoy playing this on my old PC and then upgraded and redid the downstairs, can't find all the old discs.

Thanks

First, there is no cross-over between the two games. You are concerned only with the two discs clearly labeled with the Pirate.

Then, what did your "upgrade" involve? What "old discs" can't you find?

Do you have a completely new computer or the old one with new hardware / software?

Sad to say we haven't yet uncovered (the renevations are not done yet) the box with all my old discs.  I am trying to install on a totally new PC.  This is a brand new set of discs purchased through Amazon via a vendor.  But there are no canadian labels, all labels appear legit.  I am bummed because I really most enjoyed the pirate cove version.

I really appreciate all help

Thanks

The Canadian labels business is not the only indicator of bad disks.

In any case, you will probably get more help from Take 2 directly. There's only a small group left here at the Cafe.

Here is the link for Take 2 Games support for Pirate Cove:

Thanks Kid, I have sent them a message.  What a bummer that this list has dwindled, it is still a great game and new scenarios were so much fun!
