Scenario description: This island it's beautiful and it's for you to rule, as long as you keep winning the elections.

Scenario goal: Attract 10.000 tourists to your island.

Difficulty levels: political: moderate; economic: moderate.

Notes: This scenario was hardly beta-tested. All I can say is don't build docks in the middle of the 'rivers'. Build them at 3/4 or at the mouth. Prepare yourself for a long run, with a surplus on difficulty of mandatory elections. Can you reign for a century, this way?...

Let me tell you this scenario is a breeze.   Smiley I am roughly 60 years in, happiness at a steady 60, the treasury is close to two million, and I have around 6k tourists so far. I have a score of 6k+, but this is taking longer than I expected, will have to finish it some other time. On a side note, what is the purpose of the 4 surrounding islands, other than aesthetic purposes?

I hope the breeze starts soon. I won the second election by one vote. Shocked
But I do have some cash in the treasury now, so I should be able to cheer my peons up before the next one rolls around.

This scenario is quite simple.I am about 50 yrs into the game i have had about 5000 tourists ( a little more actualy). But I do know that as the game progreses the elections become increasingly difficult to win. Even 60 happiness might not be enough.

None.  Undecided And yes, this is a long scenario, one might have to play for a century, in the first attempt.

I'm in!  Cool Here's my first result: 10.011 tourists by the year of 2037. Score: 9934

It's possible to do it before 100 years, after all... my maximum in one year was about 275 tourists.

Nice score, Juan. What was your best year? How many tourists? Did you use the hotel scam?

I'm still playing through my first try. As I predicted in my earlier post, I was able to pacify the peons enough that the elections got easier.

You mean, how to take a screenshot, or how to attach an image while posting? Or both?

I made it through!!! I had one more close election in 2000, but for the most part it was a pretty easy scenario.
I came up a little short of Juan's score though. Sad
I finished with 10,198 tourists and a final score of 10,095;
I guess I'll have to try again.

I don't use Paint, but I know you'll have to find the "save as" or the "export" function, usually located under the "File" menu. Then, export your screenshot in JPG or GIF format. Usually JPG files are classified as "low/medium/high" quality or from 1 to 100 quality. Use a midway export setting, like medium or 50, so the resulting image isn't too big, thus taking more time to show online.

** Now, it's time for me to advise you to buy a much more user friendly system, like ... say ... a Mac. **

I don't believe Paint has a true compress function. At least "compress" is not listed under 'help.'

You can "crop" images in a variety of ways. Check under the help index for the key word 'cropping pictures.'

Also look under the help index for the key word 'enlarging pictures.' Under it you can open an instruction 'to change the size of your picture.' A large picture is cut to a smaller defined size from the right and bottom.

From that, I conclude that -  at least with my edition - there is no "compress" function.

Second try was easier than the first. Things seemed to start slow. I couldn't get buildings built fast enough to spend all my pesos. That's unusual for me. I don't usually have pesos to spare. The elections were all landslides this time. It was easy, but it was also fun to play without constant worries of bancruptcy or uprising. The game was ten years shorter this time and I improved my score to 10,298. Smiley
After finishing, I tried to tweak the score more by firing almost all of the tourism workers. It didn't work. In the final year of that, the number of toruist dropped more than the number of workers I had fired leaving me with about forty-five fewer points.
