hello i am a regulary reader of this forum and i like it soo much  Grin
Of course i played and still play Tropico  Cool
But i never registered me because i found it would not be nesassary.
BUT now it IS !!!

Welcome to The Café, then!  Grin

They have to create more plants and rework the City the only thing i liked was the Cathedral (looks like the original one on Cuba  Cheesy)
Here is a Pic i found that shows how it have to be: http://frysingerreunion.org/1/Cuba/havana05.jpg
And some more that show the REAL caribic! : http://www.galenfrysinger.com/old_havana.htm

Seeing your links, I realized that Tropico 3 it's closer to the reality than I thought. If I'm correct, the present stage of the game looks well modeled, it only needs new textures. I say "only" because I think texturing it's an easier, less time consuming task than modeling.

Still, I don't know what specific situation of the game those screenshots come from. In the German magazine, it looks like color was reduced to a minimum, maybe to accelerate the rendering process, in order to show something in the press release. Or maybe some specific weather conditions had recently occurred on the island, like an hurricane.  Grin

Anyway, thank you for your CONSTRUCTIVE and FUNDAMENTED criticism, El Meck.

Havana is typical of small islands?

 Huh

We probably differ on the scale of the game.

Here is my opinion of the building aspect of the screenshots.

Unlike the rest of you guys, I personally like the concept of having potentially "Soviet"-style prefabricated apartment buildings in the next "Tropico". I think that they are mostly practical and thus, serve their purpose well, despite the fact that, sometimes, they may look aesthetically unpleasing. Moreover, the fact that these buildings could be in existence in the next "Tropico" can serve as an indication to the player of how developed a Caribbean island is like or is similar to Tropico could become after a period of intense economic, social, cultural and political development.

Red N,
No one would doubt your acceptance of Soviet Architecture.
 Wink
However unless this prefab stuff comes from the south of the Ukranine, one has to wonder about the practicality of cold weather housing on a tropical island.

Perhaps more important than the look of the apartment blocks, is the look of the shacks. They appear to be build of heavy materials as need to survive freezing winters. They just don't look like tropical shacks.

well...first of all im new so nice to meet everyone ^^. About the screenshots, i found them good they truly represent a poor caribbean island in a way. still i think its too soon to say all buildings will be like that, i have the idea that there will be also nice looking buildings and more variety, put its possible that the developers took it to seriously as it would be a sequel for Tropico 1 and make very little variety in buildings *i really wish that dont happen*

Just to note that in connection with the latest release of ten, Kalypso states that all release screen shots are from actual gameplay.
