El Meck made a composite picture.
The base is the famous WWI US recruiting poster. It had "Uncle Sam" pointing a finger.
He changed the wording a bit but left the English -- Bundeswehr is the current name of the German Army. It certainly would NOT use such a poster.
The female face is likely to be the current chancelor/ prime minister Greta [Angela] Merkle (my spelling is probably incorrect).
The hat is the "Pickelhalb" of common fame from sometime about the Franco-Prussian War through WWI. Even the US Army used it for a time. Unfortunately, El Meck's picture chops off the prong on the top.
Also it's too bad the hat size doesn't match the head size. [all is forgiven since you didn't use the awful face that it came with]
I need to mention that
"lest see" really should be
"let's see" -- lest = for fear that ; let's is the contraction of
let us. They sound alike, but are far apart in meaning.
I mean the comment in the spirit of learning. I try to understand some words and phrases in German. I am very elementary when I do that, and I appreciate commentary which make my understanding better.
