THE LEAGUE OF TROPICO
EST. 2005

INTRODUCTION
Welcome to the League of Tropico! I’m Capitaligous, and along with sethwbcl91, moderate the League. We’re glad you’ve taken the time to check out our board. This post will provide you with the basics of what the League of Tropico (also known as the LOT) is all about.

TROPICO “MULTIPLAYER”
In essence, the LOT is a version of Tropico Multiplayer. Before the LOT, there were similar, simpler versions of Tropico multiplayer on the café. Now, however, the League of Tropico is the only remaining form of Tropico Multiplayer anywhere on the net. The LOT is a complex system, but its foundations are simple. The LOT is a Tropico Government Simulation. In the LOT, El Presidente is the only person actually playing the game, but he has several ministers that act as advisors. The ministers suggest what buildings to build and where to build them, what edicts to pass, how to build up the economy, etc. However, El Presidente is still all-powerful and can choose to approve or deny any suggestions from his ministers. Most of the time, (as we’ve seen so far) El Presidente listens to what his ministers have to say and takes their suggestions into consideration. To get the ministers involved in island affairs, El Presidente has the responsibility of providing updates, in which he gives a rundown of what happened in the years that he played. He also provides screenshots, graphics, and sometimes even saved game files to maximize the amount of information the ministers receive. The information helps the ministers to make educated suggestions and decisions. A good amount of the time, El Presidente relies on his ministers a lot.

WHAT ARE TROPICO AND ENROSIA?
Tropico and Enrosia are the two islands in the LOT. You can choose to be a part of one of the islands, or both of them. Tropico has sethwbcl91 as its President, and I (Capitaligous) am the President of Enrosia. Both governments are run fairly similarly, though both governments are different in several minor aspects. Should you decide to join us (we’d love to have you!) you will have to choose which government(s) you’d like to join.

*TIP* A good place to start when trying to decide which island to join is to look at each island’s information page.

Enrosia: The Republic of Enrosia: Introduction & Information

WHAT JOBS ARE AVAILABLE?
There are four categories of jobs available for you to apply for. They are listed below from most responsibility to least responsibility.

COUNTRY LEADERSHIP
Jobs in this Category: El Presidente, Vice President, UTN Ambassador
Jobs in this category have a great deal of responsibility, as they are basically the people controlling the country.

El Presidente plays the game, provides updates, and approves/denies suggestions from ministers.
The Vice President fills in for the President if the President will be absent for more than a week. The Vice President also helps out the President a lot.
The UTN Ambassador represents his/her home island in the United Tropican Nations (which is like the United Nations)

MINISTERS (CONGRESS)
Jobs in this Category: *Positions are different on each island. View information pages for minister positions.
Minister jobs have less responsibility than country leadership jobs, but ministers must be able to be online and post often. Ministers have direct contact with the Country Leadership, and therefore, the minister’s views are conveyed most strongly to El Presidente.

View information pages to view available minister positions on each island.

DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVES
Jobs in this Category: District Representative #(Number of District)
District Representatives focus on the needs of the district they represent. However, ministers are more powerful than representatives, and representatives’ views may have a harder time getting conveyed to El Presidente. This job has a moderate amount of responsibility.

PARTY LEADERS
Jobs in this Category: Leader of the Militarist Party, Leader of the Religious Party, Leader of the Capitalist Party, Leader of the Communist Party, Leader of the Intellectual Party, Leader of the Environmentalist Party
Party Leaders express their views of how the island should be run to the island’s ministers and district representatives, who in turn decide whether or not to express the party’s views in the government or not. Party Leaders do not have a huge say in government and therefore only need to show up once a week (at minimum).

WHERE DO I APPLY FOR A JOB?
Each island has its own “Employment Office”. In each office, you can fill out an application and post it. Since we are currently short on members (in EVERY category of job) you will most likely be quickly accepted for the job you apply for!

I’M SIGNED UP. NOW WHAT?
Introduce yourself to the other members in the Ambassador’s Cocktail Lounge. Once that is completed, head on over to your island’s information page (if you hadn’t done so already) and check out the statistics about the island you’re a part of. Then, go over to your island’s update page (either “The Republic of Tropico: Updates and Screenshots” or “Republic of Enrosia: Updates/Saved Game Department”) and look at all of the updates you may have missed. Don’t worry; it doesn’t take very long to catch up to the rest of the group. Once you’ve looked at that, head on over to your island’s suggestion/debate post (either “The Republic of Tropico: Chat” or “Republic of Enrosia: Minister Suggestion/Debate Room”) and post your input on the goings on of your island. Both Presidents love getting suggestions and having debates on issues, so be sure to post your views often!

HOW DO I CONTACT A MODERATOR IF I HAVE QUESTIONS?
First off, if you’re a guest, you’ll have to register for an account on the café. (It’s quick and easy, and only requires an e-mail address)
Once registered, you can use the café’s personal messaging (PM) feature, and enter in the username of the person you’d like to contact                         (either Capitaligous or sethwbcl91). Enter your question, and you’re done! We’ll reply as soon as we can.

Thanks for spending the time to read my instructional manual. Remember, if you have any questions or think something should be added to the manual, feel free to Personal Message me or sethwbcl91.

Enjoy the League of Tropico!

NOTE: Questions can be posted below, but they will be deleted after they are answered to maintain cleanliness here.
