Oh my! I'm so sorry. I forget that I have signatures turned off on my preferences for viewing messages.

I work on a "dial-up" internet connection and the huge pictures so many people use in their signatures allow me to fall asleep whilst waiting for them to load.

I found "flagcounter" by "Google" search, but I didn't get to the address I got from looking at your profile where your signature shows also and clicking.

In some ways it probably was. However it was one of those somewhat absurd combinations that Woodrow Wilson was so found of promoting after WWI. It was always an uneasy link. At least they were able to part in peace.

I think I detect from the map one or two of the far eastern provinces of pre-WWII Czechoslovakia were detached to the Ukrane. That probably happened as part of the redrawing of boundries in settlement of WWII.

It's interesting to observe the "push and pull" of national and quasi-national boundries shifting. You could do a whole new thread on that -- those areas which seriously are trying to break away from a current national state.
