Why no Tropic 4 boards?

Always loved Tropico.  I've played it on and off for the last eleven years, which is a longer shelf life than most games these days (another game like that for me is Elder Scrolls III Morrowind).

I am going to purchase Tropico 3 and 4 and was really hoping there would be an active community here for those two titles like there were for the original Tropico  Why isn't there a board for Tropico 4?  Does Tropico 4 have individual aging citizens and families like the original Tropico?

Hello -- long time since you've been around.

I'm the last man regularly standing. There are a few folks who may show up every few months, but the "community" is essentially inactive.

The Cafe owner - Cafe Dave (David Gross?) - has to be counted as inactive. If you look at the "news" header at the top of the index, you will see that the place was badly hacked and over a year's posts were lost. Many - most - had to do with T3. My memory is not sharp on the point, but the loss may have also included some boards related to T4. Because of the constant flood of spammers, new registrations have - in effect - been locked out. The place exists because of the kindness of the owner(s) of The Next Level, and is little more than an archive.

In any case, there really is not any "community" at all left, let alone one interested in the Haemimont - Kalypso editions. I am just a ghost from the past who comes around out of habit to rearrange the bones in the catacombs.

Yes, T4 has the same kind of citizens and families as T1. However, hardly any of the players pay any attention to them because the PC version has no practical limit on population numbers. With a few thousand citizens, who has time to get to know any of them. But then, you will soon see when you buy the new games. Look for what community there is on the forum maintained by Kalypso.
