What about adding a drug trade in next version/expansion?
Would create new agricultural and factory opportunities, as well as some interesting political situations, both with factions and US/Russia.
Maybe this is a bit twisted, but would somewhat reflect reality.

There you have it. I think most game developers develop for mass market. There are a lot of parents buying the games. How many do you think would buy it if it had legit drug trade in it?

Sometimes I am really surprised...
The makers of a game in which you can burn books, steal money from your folks and send to Switzerland and even eliminate people per edict declare that selling grass is of poor taste.
Don't misunderstand me, I don't use drugs and I don't want a game in which drugs are glorified, but what can be worse than killing ?

i think drug trade would make the game more realistic, if it if it was just mary-jane that wouldnt be too too bad, you can all ready be an alcholic and make rum, so why not weed?
the one thing im againt is cocaine, that would be pushin it WAY too far
id think it be pretty funny if el presidente got busted by the police for drug trafficing

Society dictates what's acceptable as "wholesome family fun" at a given point in time.
White collar crime, violence, alcohol, and fundamentalism happen to be tolerated in American media these days.
Sex and drugs are not.
Since game companies cater to the American market due to sales volume reasons, you can expect American values to dominate the games.
Should this game been released in the 1970's you would have seen sex and drugs in the game while violence and fundamentalism would have been out.
As to white collar crime it was just called business back then. Booze is fairly universal.

Should this game been released in the 1970's you would have seen sex and drugs in the game Uh yeah, with Woodstock events, flowerpower-tourists and make-love-not-war edicts. No rebels, rockers on bikes instead, and in each of the little blue house living 4 to six people. Hey, why not go back to the seventies ..? |

Bugsy, it is all a moot point. As per Pop-topMark, they have absolutely NO plans to do any more exp paks for Tropico1. One of the reasons cited was that everyone at Pop-top is bored with Trop1.

While you are at it, could you also change the graphics of the roads to make them prettier. I'd like either cobblestone or bricks please.
That should be a piece of cake compared to the farms.

I did the same thing Timp did, succesfully. What you do is open Tropico.ing in the data2 folder, and open it with word. THen go to the edit menu, and pick 'replace'.
Select Tobacco, and replace it with marajuana. So the same to cigars, but change it to joints.
