I have set up this new board at the request of BreakawayBeachBum at Breakaway Games for everyone to post their news, questions and thoughts on the expansion pack. This will make it easier for them to keep track of posts related to Paradise Island and to respond faster to your questions. Thanks BBB! And I also moved some of the PI posts from the Questions and News Board here. Sorry if you lost them, but now you found them.  |

BreakAway Mac and I will be around for the next week until Paradise Island comes out in the US to answer any questions folks might have about the expansion.
Then once it does we can't wait to hear what people think. Some of the scenarios are ... hmm ... uhh .... maybe I should just describe them as "most interesting". Yeh, that's it!

But doesn't this defeat the purpose of the Bugs & Suggestions Board?? Anyway, we in the US are really looking forward to the PI release. Should you folks at Breakaway get the idea that a second xpac is a good idea, please look in the prior mentioned board for a host of ideas. Just before the announcement of PI's release last fall, I compiled a list of all the suggestions in all the boards and posted them in a thread called "The List". There are at least a hundred decent workable ideas there. Enough to keep you busy through xpac #10! (wishfull thinking!)  |

When you get the x-pack you'll find that we did address some of the issues on 'the list'. Unfortunately, that list came out right after we'd finalized our design.

Even tho' i don't have PI yet (let's not go into that... it is a sore subject), from talking to those that do... I'm glad to see that BreakAway did not forget us militarists. There was actually, more for those of us that like being a despot... than I counted on.
If y'all ever get the nod to do a new exp pak... there are two things that I would like to see.
1) An eliminate the Rebels edict. When this is issued, the Army will actively seek out the Rebels.
2) A Rebel Base... a soldier must come within so many tiles, before it is visible. Rebels should be required to periodically, return to the base for R&R. If the Army occupies/destroys the Rebel base... the Rebels lose heart and begin to re-intregrate back into the normal population.

Nudie beach? Believe it or not, that's one I pushed for. I thought it'd be interesting in terms of game play (of course): keeping it out 'out of sight', getting people willing to work there, etc. Sadly, I was overruled.  We did have tentative plans for a 'search and destroy' mission against the rebels, but it was just too time-consuming (code-wise) to shoehorn into the schedule. |
