What are your opinions on setting hotel rates vs automatic occupancy?

If you prefer automatic rate adjustment based on occupancy, what have you found regarding profitability when adjusting the percentage?

I've been pretty much leaving everything at the default for the hotels, which seems to be auto-adjustment to keep 70% occupancy, but was wondering what the experience of others has been with this.

Good question,  I haven't quite got this one all the way figured out, but I seem to like the 90% setting as it keeps the hotels full ( I think this offsets the wage loss of not having a full hotel)  If nothing else, just get more people to the island so they can partake of my overpriced resturants, spas, and tee-shirts.   Grin

well ok maybe not tee-shirts  :-/

I've always had the opposite experience Jim. It goes UP for less occupancy(60%) and down for more occupancy(90%).

This makes sense since if you make it cheaper, more people will come.
