Well, there's a few things about this bored board I've always wondered. Not that I answered any of them tonight, but I sure made a good attempt by producing a lot of inane numbers. Well, here goes.

I, too, am bored.
And I, too, have a calculator.
But I'm not going to use it. I started to collect data for some numbers, but it was taking too long. So I'll just make my statement, and shut up.
I wanted to find out how long it's been since the last post of the 10 board members I most enjoyed reading. I was then going to list the dates that they last posted in The Arena, the only part of the board I have time to keep up with.
They started dropping off the board in March. Some of them stayed on other parts of the board longer, but I couldn't keep up with all of them. And their absence has taken much away from the board. So I guess I'll be next. Threads like this one are not the reason I started reading the board. They have become the reason I can't keep up. And they are the reason to not try anymore.

That was 6 week-old information. Right now, the average number of posts per member is 22.42. Up about 2.56 posts from 6 weeks ago.
The average number of replies per topic is now at 13.49, up about 1 reply from 6 weeks ago.

You know, this forum needs more excitement! But unfortunatly I have no ideas. So until anyone has one, here's an picture of me ol' hometown of T.O.! And just so that we can keep on topic a little... here's a few numbers to satisfy our intellectual folk. Toronto has a population of a little over 4 million. Canada has a population of about 35 million. California has a population of around 55 million.  (Yikes! There are more people in California than in the whole of Canada! Can anyone compare the area of both with the amount of people?)  |

And some wonder why we have slow-loading problems.  I think I read somewhere that 80% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border, and that throws off density statistics quite a bit. Most of Canada is freezing wilderness and tundra, while California has a comparatively moderate climate. While Canada is considerably larger size-wise than America, America has over 8 times Canada's population. That is also a flawed statistic, as, when compared with other developed nations, America has one of the lowest densities around. I think if you compared the density of population centers of canada and america, the numbers would come out essentially equal. |
