easy question to answer I'm sure...but they never show the score in the score tab of the almanac, just progress towards the scenario objectives.  what is your final score based on?  is it the same as the "place in history" objective in random maps?

I ask because I just finished Mother of All Cigars in 1987 (13 years early) and I thought I'd get a good score but wound up with a disappointing 250.

Thanks!

In a designed scenario, the scripter can set the score to any number they want. In Mother Of All Cigars it seems to be based on nothing but winning. 250 is just the number they chose, it isn't calculated in any way by the game. If you wanted, you could go into the event file and change that 250 to any number you want and it would have no effect on the scenario. I'd say give yourself a million Smiley...or two! Grin

Yup, and some scenario writers come up with more than one ending for a scenario based on your performance. Mostly though the objective is just to win the scenario, so the score doesn't really matter.

I just put 300 in my scenarios. Smiley

Hmmm...that's kinda lame.  That takes a bit of fun out of scenarios if you get the same score no matter how well you do on them (assuming you complete them).  Is there any way to make the final score correspond to your performance?

Yes. You can rewrite the score event in any scenario to reflect whatever you want it to. Or you can eliminate it completely and let the game score you like a random game. You could still have the game ending goals as designed.

Evenin!

On some scenarios (like Born Again), I'm just happy to get thru it, and put on the rowboat.  Again, and again, and again...

I try to get gobs of points with the random scenarios, and the one I'm playing on right now, I'm not going to be happy until I KNOW that I couldn't have done any better.

And that's why I'm addicted to the game.  I've done decent, but I know I can do better, so I keep trying...  Grrr...  I hate the rowboat...

   Happy Happy!
