Some songs on the radio always make me think of Tropico... (as if it takes much to make me think of Tropico...)

Don Henley's "All She Wants To Do Is Dance" -- the quintessential Tropico song. "They're pickin' up prisoners and puttin' 'em in the pen... rebels been rebels since I dunno when..."

"Generals and Majors" by ? -- There's rumblings of dissent in the military faction... "Generals and majors always seem so unhappy 'less they got a war."

Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" -- the good side of island life.

Elton John's "Island Girls" -- Been a long time since I heard it, but it has a sort of calypso rhythm.

The Police "Bombs Away" -- "The general scratches his belly and thinks; his pay is good but his officers stink. Guerrilla girl, hot and sweet; a military man would love to meet. The President looks in the mirror and speaks; his shirts are clean but his country reeks. Unpaid bills..." That's how I play!

What songs remind you of Tropico?

Can't believe one of your posts sat here a week without any responses! I am currently using a Theme from OriginalLook.com called Tropical Isle and it uses Harry Belafonte songs. I put it up before I got the game. My mom is from St. Vincent, a West Indian Island...the one between Trinidad and Barbados, so I grew up with the Calypso beat...at least til Buddy Holly, etc came along.

It's kinda like when you buy a new car, you suddenly start seeing them all over the place...saw a movie last nite, For Love Or Country...true story of Arturo Sandoval (great Cuban/jazz trumpet player) and his defection from Cuba.
The cars, the streets, the houses/shacks, and above all, the music were definitely like Tropico!

Rebels been rebels, since I don't know when, and all she wants to do is dance, dance...

Actually, I've got a question that maybe some of you music minded types could answer.

There is a song out there with the lines...

"Are ya reelin in the breeze...are ya feelin in the ease"

Any of you know what this song is titled?  I will give you many many pesos plus amnesty if you can tell me...
