So here I am. Sitting in front of my PC, working away. In the background my stereo plays a local radio station (not the one where my cousin works, the other one).
A song ends and the DJ begins talking about Britney Spears. I tune out, with my ear recording every few words. Something about a new song and an ex boyfriend once again talking bout Britney's virginity.
The song starts playing, and i half listen, half return to my work.
Suddenly my ears perk up at a familiar tune, but i dismiss it. This is a 'nothing older than 18 months' station. However the tune is still there, so i get off my chair and walk over to my stereo, and turn the volume up. As I walk closer to the stereo (a 2 metre distance), i identify the song.
'I love rock and roll' continues to flow out of both my speakers, as i twist the volume control upwards. After a quick listen to confirm it is in fact miss spears voice, i turn on my heel, twist the knob back down to a low level and walk back to my PC.
And now i am typing this increasingly long post.

A few things strike me here.
1: 'I love rock and roll' -come on britney! i'm sure you do
2 (more importantly): Why is it that every single pop artist/band has to re-do a song that has just come off copyright, and well and truly KILL it. WHY?!!!!
rant over
