I'm a llama!

« on: 11/18/02 at 06:34 PM »

It is 23.25 and I have to be up early tomorrow. I am about to start a new tropico scenario. No doubt I will go to bed at about 3 am.
Does anyone have any advice on how to explain this to bemused partners! please! I can't help it, I find myself giving advice to senor presidente all the time outl oud eg walking down the street past a pile of rubbish and I can't resist, "the island, eet's feelthy!"

I see tropicans everywhere I look! what shall I do!??!

Bribe her with a nice bottle of wine and an evening out at the cinema. If that fails have your partner arrested and set the prison to Forced Labour (press numberplatestrousers (pants))

Welcome to the board che timeteo!

Do not listen to these uncivilized warmongers!

You need to carefully explain that her entertainment need will be met by listening to you talk about the game and this helps prevent the burning flags of the rebels from showing.

Enact the anti-littering edict and show that you truly care about your soon to be island paradise and embrace the puppies and kittens of your soul!

Buy her a new PC and load Tropico on it.

In a week, she'll be as addicted as you.  Wink

Speaking of buying Tropico... I was in Best Buy yesterday.   They had the original Trop for 29.95.   Right next to it was MM... for 29.95  Roll Eyes.

well, I don't think she realises that it is pervading her life as well...Just the other day she said "I can't hear the word 'environmentalist' without thinking about those little people on that island of yours, why are you so careless about the environment?"

That's for my stalkers.Wink

There is a screensaver, a slide show of screenshots, on the bonus cd that was available when Tropico was first released. You may be able to get a copy of that cd on ebay. Last time I checked, there were a few listed there. I think they were selling for about $1US plus shipping.
I just spent about an hour trying, unsuccessfully, to find a working link to The Dancing Rebel Girl Screensaver that our own Rich Nagel created.
I have both of those and would be willing to email them to you if you'd like. I don't know of any others that are around. PopTop's site doesn't have any.

Let's fix it!

Wait until the game music is written into her head so she goes around humming it...then realises where it came from and tries to choke you for it! Hasn't happened to me with Tropico yet, but a few (more annoying) soundtracks have sent partners over the edge before.

You have to consider it as a test of your compatability  Cheesy
