Great news! A beta demo of Tropico 2: Pirate Cove is now available from the Fileplanet servers at this url: http://www.tropico2.com/Go get it now! It's only 128 MB.  I wonder what they mean by beta demo??? |

Same here Tish, but it was my fault. I had to go to my ball hockey game and when I got back it had timed out and I lost my place. Why can't the download start automatically once you're at the front of the line?

if you have a download utility (like getright, etc not a download speeder), it should start the download for you automatically. Browsers doesn't though. So use getright (just make sure you disable 'click and keyboard monitoring' when you join the queue, and then enable it when your in the queue. I wonder what they mean by beta demo??? cause its a demo of the beta version of the game, not the gold. It's only 128 MB. 128@44k  at least its not 358MB or something though  |

for some reason i was downloading it and the dadgumed thing tried to refresh stopped. after minutes of cussing away at the monitor and wishing fileplanet the worst i went back on and got lucky i only had to wait 10minutes in line  |

128@44k Really. If I survive the wait in line and start downloading now, I'd probably be able to buy the full game in stores and have it installed just about the time the download is complete. |

some other servers have no wait (just slow speed i assume). i've finally made it to the front of the line and am now sucking data in from 15km away, down my recently (i.e. 6 hours ago) phone line  |

I downloaded it last night - took about an hour wait in line and about 1 1/2 downloading. |

We have no DSL here and I don't trust my cable company to give me decent service. So it's good old dial-up at 45.3 for me. It's just part of the price I pay for not living in an east coast megalopolis.

It took me almost 30 minutes to download here. I was mad and I intend to let them (the tropico 2 people, my cable company, my senator, the dogowner across the street, that weird guy who looks in my trash for bottles to recycle, and even the girl at the grocery store at the fish counter) that I am not pleased.
