I was wondering what odds you have of finding something while cruising...    ?

Let's say that a map area has a trade route and a settlement on it (both undiscovered).  What chance per cruise or exploration do you have of finding one or both?

Are there odds...   like could you say something like:  "Cruising an area 5 times will let you find everything".

Or are the odds based on days spent in the area?

Or am I nuts and you just find everything in an area after exploring a single time?

Thanks.

Hi Garrat

Its been a long time between this post and your previous.  Did you crack the Treasure Fleet episode ?

Explore missions seem to spend a fixed 4 days in an area (rations permitting).  I dont know if this 4 days is any more effective than 4 days of a cruise in an area.

Cruising - especially with a long range vessel can seem more productive. This im convinced though its a factor of days spent.  The more time in an area the better you know it.  The more you know it the greater the chance you will find something..if its there to be found.

So could be first day of first cruise you find something...or loads of cruises later.

Ive never seen anything found on a Raid/skilled captive mission.

Last Played Tropico2 in Oct2004...after 9 months of playing it.  Not bad value for a £10 purchase.

OK, cool.  Thanks.

I never played the first Tropico.  My wife did (and a whole bunch  Shocked)).  I thought I'd give Pirates Cove a chance when it came out.

I bought it right when it came out.  I can't remember if I accidentally deleted my saves during an image restore, or if some other cool game came out at the time.  But, I stopped playing Pirates Cove around mission 10.

I finally got back around to playing it again since I've finished everything else I wanted to play.  So, I'm back at it, relearning it from scratch.  I'm up to mission 11 or so ("Jolly Roger").

(Ground Control 2 comes out in a few days though... Smiley).

Each sea zone has an indicator of how well the zone is known. How fast that changes (improves) should be a gage of the relative effectiveness of various missions. Of course, when you know the zone "like the back of your hand" - all has been discovered, don't you think?
