You want to increase religious satisfaction?
Here are some options (some with complications for other factions): 1) More churches (with Priests in them). 2) More cathedrals (with Bishops). 3) The Word of God newspaper. 4) High school and University set to religious education. (Can't remember the exact term right now.) 5) Issue the Contraception Ban edict. 6) Issue the Prohibition edict. 7) Start an Inquisition. 8) Bribe the leader of the religious faction, and otherwise make him/her happy. 9) Demolish all Cabarets (or don't build any in the first place). ( 10) Perhaps Casino's are bad too?)
- The first four come without backlash. - #2 is better than #1. - #8 also have minimal backlash.
Hope this helps. Olle

Actually, ONLY the first Two have no backlash. "Word of god" will not only make the religios happy but it will also make their ranks swell. And the religious education also produces intellectual adherents for the church. Try getting one of them working in the military if you doubt me. Those methods are good though, but bear in mind that if they don't work out not only will you have to face an annoyed religious faction but a HUGE annoyed religious faction.

Foolproof method of raising it one level:
After you build the first church to shut up Raul, staff it with only one priest. Build only cathedrals after that. The cathedral gives a much higher religious satisfaction.
I would bulldoze the church too if I could. But for some reason no matter how happy the religious folk are, if you don't have the church, Raul pesters you every 10 minutes. Will drive you nuts.

The term is Parochial education. It can slow down the education prosess, so I tend to avoid it. Once you have a cathedral built, you shouldn't have any problems with the religious faction.

You MUST be very careful about your character traits. Make sure they either support the religous fraction OR they do not PISS THEM OFF. Next, very early in the game you MUST BUILD a CHURCH.
The religous leader should be living in a nice house though and should be paid more than all the other high school educated people. Then do things in favour of the religous fraction like set newspaper to word of god and DO NOT build CARBANETs

Not building a cabaret is suicide by coup!! You got to have at least one of this.
Word of God is good for the religious folk and if you build a cathedral before the island reaches 250 people they're delighted with you.

Only soldiers and generals start a coup (and "need" a cabaret). You don't have any of these, do you? (Then lately I spotted a 10 year old kid who's favourite entertainments were 1) cabaret 2) gambling 3) drinking...) Cheers Olle

Ahh, but with PI, even the ladies visit the Cabaret, so it truly is an experience that all Tropicans can enjoy. Hell, if you don't have at least two Cabarets something is missing. For my part the religious faction is always unhappy with me, and I barely get access to half of their edicts. All the more reason to use the Dungeon I say.

I can't tell you how long it took me to discover this. I always dislike the cabaret building because it has a gigantic footprint compared to how much space it appears to take up. Often times I think I've got a great spot for it, but it won't fit. So I forget about it. Or at least, I used to forget. Now I usually build it across from the palace and down from the church.

You don't need a carbanet. I went through a 50 year game, 4 soldiers and no carbanet. No problem. Lol they went to the bars to peep at the skirts of the barmaids instead. You do not need a carbanet. Firstly it doesn't make profits, i always lose cash there and secondly, the soldiers have better ways of entertaining themselves, no need a carbanet

Well, then you're luckier than I am Egg. My soldiers seem to start a coup every time I don't build a cabaret.

Caberets are great. They prevent millitary coups, they entertain half of your population, and they are great for tourism. And really, the religious folks don't mind them. For 62 years in my current game the caberet was sandwiched between the palace and the church. And I'm still close to religious faction.

I don't know but i usally do not make profits even though they entertain half the population but i usally set them on dress code so that its better for the soldiers

I have found that once you hit around a 250 native population and have 2 Hotels up you should be breaking even if the fee is set to around 9-10. Once the fees go up to 12+ a profit, albeit small, rolls in.
I always keep it to the lowest dress code, but may switch one to upper-scale if I have a second Cabaret.

LOL Egg, the Cabaret is not the only thing that I have to entice the tourists, I was simply using that as an example. With the approximate figures I posted previously I was demonstrating how and when it is possible to make a profit from the Cabaret.

In 1 game I played I had half my island stacked with high class hotels and every tourist enticment u can think of, all with dress codes. I had a cabernet and I only allowed 1 dancer. I charged the full 50$ per visit, and the place was always packed. So don't think cabernets cant be lucrative. You just need to go out and hire Shakira to dance for your tourists like I did. I had men from all over the world coming just to see her dance.
