Yes, I am addicted to Tropico 2. Ok, I was...

I did a little work on the scenario from the demo and I believe this version works in the actual game now.

I did not change any gameplay aspects of the game (like making additional buildings available), I only changed some of the commands that were causing error. I guess the language in the .txt files changed some between the Beta demo and the release version of the game.

The only change to the map was to rotate the sawmill 180 degrees so that the hauler delivery side is near the road.

I played it through and it worked fine for me. The only part I wasn't checking was the advice since I had the tutorial turned off.

To add the scenario just unzip the files into the Tropico2\Maps folder.

* Two_Captains_One_Ship.zip (99.1 KB - downloaded 99 times.)

I tried downloading them myself and it worked fine for me. I will send e-mail.

Anyone else has trouble let me know. I don't think I can attach the non-zipped files.

Interesting that it works for some and not others. That is going to be a problem if people start posting original scenarios here.

Jebus - Since your e-mail is private, send me an e-mail if you want me to e-mail the files to you.

TJ, thankee fer de email. Ye did a fine job o' portin' de demo scenario an' Fred Bob scored about 20,000!  Grin Did ye be changin' any o' de time limits thar, matey? It seemed tew play longer than in de demo, but dats definitely not a complaint!  Wink

Fred Bob was a tryin' tew unzip wid de Windows XP file compression/decompression utility. Mebbe Fred Bob should be usin' WinZip ye suppose?  Undecided

I used Winzip to create the zip file. I am still only back on Windows 98.

As far as changing anything, I did not make changes other than the rotation of the sawmill. I only changed the script to get rid of the interpreter errors that were caused by script file language changes between the Beta demo and the Release game.

One thing that may have changed is the scoring system. When I played the demo my best score was about 18000, but when I played my updated version I got a score over 22000.

I'm also using XP's decompression utility and was having the same problem, so perhaps that's the issue here.

Thanks for rescripting this, as well as for emailing it to me TJ.

This is an old thread. It has one of the first Tropico2 games. So im interested it giving it a go.

Im having the same problem as Fred Bob - cant get this to unzip on an XP machine.

Has anyone found a way around this without downloading win zip ?  Thanks in advance.
