ive been playing a few days now, and have sent my crew out on many cruise missions to all areas of the map, and the only ships they ever see are Spanish ships and since i have diplomatic relations with Spain, they wont go after them....i have no gold incoming and im going broke fast....anyone else having the same problem?

Are you only cruising in the same area, or are you going to other areas and cruising there?  The fact that you're only seeing Spanish ships at all implies to me that you're only cruising in one area, and that that area has a heavily Spanish population.

Alternately, if you're only seeing Spanish ships, consider changing your diplomatic stance so that your patron is a different country, so you can plunder the Spanish all you want.

thanks guys, didnt realize i could drop my diplomatic relations....i have hoisted the Jolly Roger and am now raking in the gold....only problem is now my flow of unskilled captives has stopped and i dont have enough people for all the jobs i have...time to go raid some settlements i guess, hehe

I have been trying to build a boatyard, i build it were it said on the sand adjacent a road, i have a shipwright, but still no boatyard.

ps what is unique when i try to build i require 10 lumber 1 shipwright , and unique.
