globalstarsoftware.com is very much not a a functional site for Tropico information of any kind.

Until someone with a high-speed connection and a heart loaded with goodwill uploads the Tropico 2 Pirate Cove documents to the www.replacementdocs.com site, those who for some reason need them (they come on the disks) are fresh out of luck.

As 'Weeds' points out, the T2 Strategy Guide come on the officially published game.

Try here and here .

Note that I haven't actually tried to download them from the above two links, but many times the Internet Archive (AKA 'The Wayback Machine') can be a wealth of older no-longer working web sites and pages Smiley

.. .are you saying that the tropico 2 strategy guide comes on the tropico 2 CDs, because i cant find a manual let alone a strategy guide once the game is installed (i got my copy of tropico 2 about 3 years ago, not a re-release). ...

O.K. A couple of assumptions: "not a re-release" means not a 'pirated' copy (duh) and not one like my "Master Player's Edition" copy --- you are running regular 'Windows' and not MAC.

Although I was not watching closely, I thought both manuals were included on the disks from the get-go. But of course I am wrong more often than right. I haven't even followed the patches required to bring the game to whatever the final version is.

However, I will insult your intelligence with the following click-by-click description of how I open the manual and guide on my copy:

> I load DISK ONE in my disk drive.
> Auto-Play opens its stupid window.
> I left click on 'exit'.
> I then click on the 'START' button in the lower left of the "Windows" screen.
> Then I move the curser to 'MY COMPUTER' and to the 'DISK DIVE' with the T2 icon.
> Then I RIGHT click.
> From the menu which opens, I click on 'OPEN'.

A window opens which shows the contents of the disk. Among those contents are two file-folder icons. One is labeled "Manual and Strategy Guide". When you 'open' it, there are the two PDF files you are looking for.

I realize I have likely insulted you by such an elementary description. Please cut me some slack. Some folks have only a simplistic knowledge of their PC. So when you say you can't find the files on the disks after the game is installed --- I can't guess what you have done to look for them.

I hope you eventually find what you are searching for.

... yes i do [know] how to browse through CDs using windows explorer. i still could not find strategy guide.pdf. ... i bought the re-release (sold out) this had the manual on CD1 but no strategy guide.pdf ...

I'm sorry, but what I described is NOT using 'Windows Explorer' to browse CDs.

Try my instruction. The CD1 where you found the manual has the strategy guide. YOU just have to find it.

You might try searching (case sensitive) for: Tropico 2 Strategy Guide.pdf

Colin,

I am so very sad. I have no way of answering your question positively. I have to guess no based on logic. But that is no help. Only if there was a big copyright issue would they have gone to the expense of making two different disks.

Let's go one step further.

You did not tell me if you found the manual by following my step-by-step. The two should be side-by-side. I have extended by step-by-step.

> I load DISK ONE in my disk drive.
> Auto-Play opens its stupid window.
> I left click on 'exit'.
> I then click on the 'START' button in the lower left of the "Windows" screen.

> I RIGHT click on it.
> From the menu which opens, I click on 'OPEN'. A window opens which shows the contents of the file-folder icon.

FOR GOODNESS SAKE, WHAT DO YOU SEE?

I am sorry that I have been insulting. I'm going on ten years trying to communicate on the Internet about twiddly-fiddly little things.

It seems we have come down to finding out that lots of different kinds of disks were published.

acrobat I can't remember what "acrobat" is. What's in that folder?

Anyway, I guess you have to wait for some kind soul with a high speed connection. Sorry.
