The Gamespot review is excellent and well-balanced but I really must protest at the Gamespy review

. On the original Tropico: "It had a great premise and a lot of fun buried beneath its mountains of charts and far-too-complicated political interactions". I would hardly call the logbook mountains of implied rubbish and the political interactions through the edicts were not complicated. On P.C: "It would also have been be nice if you could actually control your pirates at sea rather than just giving them plunder orders and hoping for the best." This is a city-builder game not an RPG. "While the graphics certainly aren't state of the art" - They are a dadgumed lot better than some of the trash other companies spew out by the bucketload. The Gamespy argument is highly illogical - flitting from one subject which is deemed "bad" only to praise it in the next paragraph. If you want a proper review which is balanced and unbiased, go to Gamespot by the link above which Mack the Knife kindly put up.
