I haven't even played the sandbox stuff yet. Still working on finishing the campaigns. Unfortunately, I don't have the free time I once had.  Cry

Allright here is what I've seen. The two MAIN factors in difficulty are the starting setting and the happiness level.

In my opinion, setting the happiness level lower is harder than setting the startup condition lower. Sure it's hard to start with bare bones, but you can grow out of that. Where as Utter Chaos is with you the entire game.

Lowering the lumber count on your island can also make things very challangeing.

For a newbie, I would reccomend starting at shipwrecked mariners and the highest happiness setting, as you get better and better, take a harder and harder difficulty setting.

I look foreward to a fellow sandboxer who might be my high score (see AAR board). Good luck!

How many Silver spoons does it take to change a lightbulb: One to hold the bulb while the world revolves around them.

How many environmentalists does it take to change a lightbulb? None, they're all outside protesting the power plant.

How many teamsters does it take to change a lightbulb: 1, but it'll never get done. There are 38.4 units of lightbulbs piled up at the factory and nobody is doing a dadgumed thing with them.

An interesting fact is that the starting conditions have a greater impact on the difficulty percentage than the happiness setting. If tried a sandbox game with about 150% and altering the starting conditions one Step change the difficulty about 20%, while altering the satisfaction level only 10%.

I've been trying to beat your high score pinstar but haven't got there yet. Lately I've been spending all of my time writing scenario's and random event sripts. I'll have to give dethroning you another go this weekend Grin
