  Are any of you lot are having trouble with wenching and preening needs?
If you are, here is the solution: when you first start to get high level pirates kidnap a couple of courtesan and open a few special places where they work e.g the spa.

After doing this the pirates happiness should go up a good amount.

Courtesans are great late in the game, but their massage huts are cigar hogs.  

I've started building at least 2 of the big whorehouses   on my bigger islands.  You get preening action with unskilled labor and better usage of cigars.

You can always just block the hauler spot and then the cigars will go elsewhere.

I'm with TJ on this one, I never have haulers in my courtesan and spa or brothel buildings. I prefer that they go to my gambling establishments. The courtesan and brothel has a much higher satisfaction rating without the cigars then the gambling buildings do.

Female captains want courtesans. Wenches and brothel babes just will not do.

And if you don't build any, they get angry...And you don't want that to happen, do you?

Plus low ranked pirates don't get as much satisfaction from a courtesan as a wench, and courtesans take more space all of which is why I don't bother with courtesans unless I pick them up on a cruise. If you set the price to gouge 'em it helps keep the riffraff out and I've found that a courtesan will bring a level 9 captain's satisfaction up to maximum without cigars so I agree on blocking haulers. My policy on courtesans is if I get them for nothing and have space available fine, otherwise forget it.

I just build a couple and leave em alone. IF my wenching  satisfactiin is low, then ill go and kindap some of them. But i dont care which of my dudes goes to the courtaesan.

The space taken by their building is my main reason for not using them.  I could entertain more per map square using other buildings.  Ensuring pirates have short routes between buildings helps keep em appy.

A skilled wench in a brothel with drink and cigars will blow even your highest ranked pirate blues away with plenty enough satisfaction.

Then I cheat as well.  One skilled wench goes from establishment to establishment in order to greet each new arrival.  That sets the rate of satisfaction they are going to derive from the visit.    Skilled wench then moves on elsewhere.  

That micro tip would work with one Courtesan running several courtesan buildings...if you had the space and inclination to micromanage.
