Only Island screen nothing to select. Strange without patch it is doing fine.

I am currently playing without patch,

ooooh it asks for the cd and then ends with an error can't remember what.

I can't see why I should sent my pc details. It runs on XP with Nvidia Graphs, not DX9,

Hi
I played T2 on my old Celeron, which was very slow, but worked. Now I bought myself a brand new P4, and the game crashes.
I can watch the opening movie, and I see the buttons. As soon as i try to hit one, I am back to desktop, and have to restart the game.
I tried different directx versions, different drivers, nothing worked, What am I doing wrong???

Mojito, I doubt you are doing anything wrong, except being unlucky. Since the game shipped there have been occasional reports of just this problem. We've never been able to repeat it here. Obviously, it cannot be fixed until we can repeat and debug it.

The only thing I can tell you is to post your system specs. So far, we've not even been able to identify a common factor among the machines that have this problem.

Have you tried both patched and unpatched? Did it make any difference?

I'm really glad it is working now. Just a quick question: Did you mean you replaced your motherboard? Or is it the same one?

No, its the same hardware I just reinstalled the CD which came along with it. I am not sure if the Motherboard itself needs any drivers, or the chipset, or what it was, but it worked for me.

I had so trouble with this game, but I managed to fix it.
First I had install problems, and kept trying again till it worked.

Then I had direct draw problems, then I installed the patch.

Then I had missing cd problems and the autorun would not say "play" but "install".

Then I installed a no cd crack.  then I had the direct draw problem again.

Then I updated my driver. It still did not work.

Then, remembering a fix that I did for another game, I went into my display properties, on the "settings" tab. I selected the "advanced" button.  Clicked on the "troubleshooting" tab, and increased my hardware acceleration one higher.  Now the game works (though I might uninstall the patch and try turning the opening movie on again).

I had turned down the hardware acceleration to get a different game to work.  I guess I just will have to change it when necessary

Thanks for that J Scherzi and welcome.

Great to have a positive solution to the problem.

Hope it will help others...and that you find the efforts worthwhile and enjoy the game.
