start up problem, patch

Hi!

Having problem start the game after using the patch. I get the island screen and then everything freezes.
Got a US game so I used the US patch.

Upgraded to DirectX 9.0a and it didn't help. Had no probelms before.

Could anyone help, I miss my pirates.

One idea-- some people were playing the game prior to the patch with a nocd "fix" that we don't support. However, they found after installing the official patch their nocd thing doesn't work anymore. If this is ture for you, the game would work again if you put the cd in.

If this is not your problem, the only thing we can try is to have you post your system specifications.

Also if you are really desperate you can of course uninstall the game, then reinstall off your original cd and play the unpatched version again.

Have same problem. original game works perfect. installed patch and now game won't load. freezes at graphic of island and computer locks.

Have a P4 1.3g chip
256k ram
nividia TNT card with latest drivers. 40 gb left on hd.
Win MEDirect Drive 9.

Uninstalled game, reinstalled. works fine. install patch - won't work.

please fix your program patch soon!

Same problem here...

Specs: PIII 833Mhz
160 MB RAM
16 mb NVidia Vanta (I suspect this is the culprit...I'm going after new drivers today, and I'll post my findings)

I hope something gives!  The developers put forth a lot of effort to make actual improvements with their patches (always have) and I'd hate to think I'm unable to reap the benefits


EDIT: Updated video drivers, updated directX, still no luck.  Looking forward to the next patch...

Only Island screen nothing to select. Strange without patch it is doing fine.

I'm really sick of getting stuck on Blue (Island) Screen of Death. ...  

I wonder if it has to do with XP ....
