Jan. 1950 - I see that Rich has been generous with his mineral deposits, and place my corn farm accordingly.
Dec. 1950 - Adam and Eve get married.  Adam is the leader of the religious faction.  Eve is the leader of the military faction.  Eve complains about the absence of an army.
Dec. 1951 - Bartolomeo born.  Eve's name changed at some point to Adam, so two Adams, one male and one female.  I am not sure, but I think it was when first names of children became necessary.
Aug. 1952 - Osvaldo born.
July 1955 - Felipe born.
Dec. 1957 - Hurricane!  I set Random Events to "rarely", and the farm and one of the two shacks were destroyed.  I was glad to have another free farm!  The place name was changed from Eden to El Venado, Spanish for deer or stag.
July 1959 - Eve assumes the mother avatar for the first time.
June 1960 - Julia born.  Eve becomes a farmer again.  I am informed that I have enemies among the people.
Nov. 1965 - Bartolomeo becomes an adult farmer and the leader of the Communist faction.
April 1966 - Adam protests.
Aug. 1966 - Eve protests.
Nov. 1966 - Bartolomo builds his own shack.
Jan. 1967 - Build free construction office and hire Bartolomeo.  Order bunkhouse.  I have been raising wages to equal the Caribbean Average.  They are at ten pesos.
May 1968 - Bunkhouse finished.  Bartolomeo and Felipe move in.  Second bunkhouse ordered.  Adam and Eve protest together.
Aug. 1968 - Bartolomeo complains about high unemployment on behalf of the Communists.  Osvaldo becomes a construction worker, leader of the Intellectuals, and moves into the first bunkhouse.
Sept. 1968 - Felipe becomes a construction worker and leader of the Capitalists.
Nov. 1968. - Second bunkhouse complete.  Felipe moves in.  Order country house for poor longsuffering Adam and Eve.
May 1969 - Country house complete.  I built it on top of A&E's shack, so they moved into the second bunkhouse during construction.  I evict them and they move into the country house.  I am charging no rent.  We do not yet have an exchange economy.  I order a pub to be built for Julia to work in when she reaches adulthood as the "Adamses" are complaining about the lack of entertainment.
Nov. 1969 - Pub complete.  There have been no protests in 1969.

Numbers for December 1969:

Number of Citizens - 6
Food Quality - 69
Overall Respect - 56
Happiness - 43
Farming Profits - minus $280
Tourism & Entert. - minus $5
Foreign Aid Total - $4,000
General Overhead - minus $441
Total Profits - $3,273
________________________
Special Expenses - minus $1,000

Treasury - $64,813

It doesn't look like Eve is going to bear another child, and we are still at a population of six.  I am going to hang on and see if one of the boys will marry Julia before I build a dock.

April 1970 - Adam protests.
Dec. 1970 - "You are making friends among the people!"
Sept. 1973 - Julia, at 13, molts into Unemployed, but doesn't take the job at the Pub I had open for her.
Feb. 1974 - The people complain about a lack of medical treatment.
Aug. 1975 - Julia marries Bartolomeo.  I am informed that the economy has shrunk.  I have built, since 1970, a Dock (closed), a Cheap Hotel, a Beach Site, a Clinic and a Teamster Office.  I meant to let the dock be not quite finished until I needed it, but I slipped up and it got finished.  Adam and Eve have been hauling their mound of corn sacks to it.
Feb. 1976 - I am making enemies.  Julia continues to complain that she can't find a job.
April 1976 - Bartolomeo, as leader of the Communists, complains about unemployment.  I give up on the Pub job and open a third slot on the Corn Farm.  Julia takes it right away..
Nov. 1976, - Julia gives birth to Miguela.  The population is now 7.

March 1977 - Meal reserves are down.  Respect = 60.  The US is Angry.  Happiness = 39.  Religion Quality = 4.   Entertainment Quality = 12.  I open the Dock (freighters only for now), Teamster Office, Clinic, Clinic,  a second Corn Farm, the Cheap Hotel and the Beach site for hiring and visitors.

July 1977 - Felipe becomes a dockworker.
Dec. 1977 - As a freighter approaches, I am informed that my population is down to 7, and that it is time to seek my fortune elsewhere.  "This is odd, because it has not yet been greater than 7!", El Dios grumbles as he unships his oars.

Shoot!  Well, know I know. Roll Eyes  I guess I could have opened the dock sooner and maybe a group of immigrants would have gotten me over the hump.  But I wanted to see if I could do without immigrants for a while at least.

Sure I will play it again!  I am guessing that Adam or Eve died, causing that population check.

I think Tropican teens are reluctant in taking job at the Pub. This happened to me in the Tiny Island scenario, in which the Pub slots stayed empty for ages...

From dargo:

Many jobs in Tropico have a minimum age limit.  Even if the only alternative is unemployment, a Tropican may not take this job until they reach the minimum age.  They will not even start school to fill an open job until they meet the age requirement.
