The History of the Tropican Communist Party.  Written by the dictator Anna Smith, who was installed by Dark Shinji.

December 17, 1948 -

Woke up today in my shack to a bright light that filled the entire shack.  As the light died down I heard a voice that said, "Do not fear."  I instantly shut my eyes and prostrated myself on the ground to receive this Angel of the Lord.  But soon he spoke saying, "Rise and open your eyes, for I will lead you to greatness."

I rose and came face to face with a man in samurai armor and a katana across his back.  I knew this was no Angel of the Lord.  He spoke again saying, "I am Dark Shinji, the god of Japan, the country which had two cities destroyed by those -=censored=- Yankees to the north."

Even though he was from Japan, the man spoke fluent Spanish.  "What shall you have me do?" I asked him.

"Go to the mountains and erect a shrine to me and offer a burnt offering.  Come back, and I will tell you more."

Knowing that it was against the Commandments to do so, I quoted, "I am the Lord, your God, and you shall have no other gods besides me."

This outraged the "god" of Japan and he angrily yelled while brandishing his katana, "GO NOW OR I SHALL CLEAVE YOU IN HALF!"

Not doubting his threat, I ran to do as he said.

Later I returned to my shack only to find the god of Japan looking through my meager supplies of food.  He frowned, as he set a bag of nearly rotten corn down.  "How can you live this way?!" he asked.  "This corn is nearly rotten and your milk has spoiled!  Nor do you have any rice!"

"Our president, he doesn't care for us at all," I timidly said, knowing how angry he got before.

Dark Shinji walked up to me and looked at me closely.  I trembled at what he might do.  He reached out and brushed a strand of hair away from my face and touched my cheek.  I blushed, knowing what the mythical Zeus did with women.  But this god of Japan was no pervert.  He took his hand away and spoke, "Listen, I shall give you the power to lead many people justly and fairly.  You want the president overthrown and you shall do it.  I will provide you and any of your followers with AK-47s.  They're much better than that antique Springfield with bayonet you have against your bed."

He touched the side of my head and his hand glowed.  When he pulled his hand away he spoke, "Now, how shall you lead your rebellion?"

"Rebellion?!" I cried.

"Yes, rebellion."

"Uh...uh...a communist rebellion."

The god of Japan frowned, "I detest communism in all its forms, but in this case I shall make an exception.  Even communism would be better than what you live under now.  Now go, and lead your people."

And that's how it began.

April 16, 1949 -

Met with the communist party and declared that the time to rise up was near.  I looked around at the nervous group of 20 and their AK-47s.  I also looked to the trump card we held, a quick-firing 3-inch field piece.  This field piece is manned by two soldiers who are part of the communist party and feel that El Presidente should fall.  Two farmers are charged with carrying the rounds and powder to the gun.

The Tropican army outnumbers us, with 25 members in it.  All soldiers are armed with AK-47s, pistol sidearm, and switchblades.  The generals tend to lead the attack from the rear, and never come to the front to do battle.

The palace has a trench line around it from which the soldiers can fire without fear of getting hit too much.  Our two loyal soldiers are busy getting another 3-inch field piece.  The army only has one more and won't give it up for anything simple.  The soldiers were sent with instructions that they should spin a story that they know where some rebels are and want to bombard that area.

A scout brings word that they claimed the new field piece and two other soldiers are coming with them.  As soon as our loyal soldiers cross the front, our people open fire on El Presidente's troops.  The soldiers now pick out four bright looking young men to man the gun.

November 27, 1969 -

Everything is in place.  The men and women are ready to go and we have planned everything out.  Nothing should go wrong.

The attack commences at dawn, while El Presidente's troops are still in bed suffering from hangovers and long nights with some of the loose women on the island.

The roar that the two 3-inchers make is loud enough to wake any person on the island.  The shells go long and strike the palace walls, raining debris on the trenches.  The next two shells land short, spraying dirt into the air.  The next two rounds land in the trenches and screams can be heard from wounded troops.

This goes on for three hours until our men advance.  Even with the bombardment, El Presidente's troops respond with rifle fire.  Heavy machine gun fire can be heard from the palace.  A bullet whips past my head and strikes a tree behind me.  Snipers, is my only thought.  The sound of machine gun rounds hitting the dirt makes a tic-tic-tic sound everywhere.

The revolution has begun!

And I plan to give it to you people.  I'm just trying to decide if I want to secure the inside of the palace EOE (End of Evangelion) style, which would be bloody, low-down, and without mercy for surrendering government officials.  My other choice is to be nice and secure the inside of the palace without too much bloodshed.

When I say EOE style, I don't mean I plan to takeover with nine 40-story tall bio mechas.  What I do mean is planning to secure the inside of the palace the way the JSSDF Special Forces took over the inside of NERV Headquarters.

I'm going to continue the battle for the island in the manner in which I'm writing and go at it WW1 or WW2 style.

Thank you Harry Turtledove, you're my favorite author! Grin

November 29, 1969 -

Despite a heavy artillery barrage and brave fighting, 10 of El Presidente's Special Forces managed to infiltrate our rear and attack.  We managed to regroup and counterattack, killing eight of them and taking the last two captive.  We suffered heavy losses, 18 to be exact.  The worst was losing the whole gun crew servicing the 2nd 3-incher (not the one with the trained soldiers).

During this attack, El Presidente's main forces charged from their trenches and attacked our forward lines.  This pincer attack almost broke us, but our brave men and women continued fighting.  We retreated into the forest to our HQ and have dug in as best we can.

Intel reports that El Presidente's troops have fortified the apartment buildings along the main approach to the palace.  Usually it involves six or eight soldiers laying sandbags around the building, barbed wire strung across the main entrances to the apartment building, and they have the soldiers point heavy machine guns out boarded up windows.  Many other buildings around the palace have been fortified in this manner also.  Trench lines have been dug in front of the fortified buildings.

The palace itself is heavily fortified in the same way, but with more soldiers and heavy machine guns.  The palace is now a fortress in its own right, but the damage to the outer walls in our initial attack has weakened the building.

Right now I have two commandos making their way to an armory so that they can steal more ammo, AK-47s, and other supplies.  The god of Japan has yet to come back with more supplies.

November 31, 1969 -

We managed to get the supplies from under El Presidente's nose.  We have even got hold of four desperately needed sniper rifles.  A small force with both 3-inch guns is attempting to move into a lightly guarded area near the rear of the palace.  Another two forces will be launching an assault on the forward trenches of El Presidente's troops to distract them while the real attack force lays siege to the palace.

Note: Due to the blood, gore, and violence of this chapter, this chapter is Rated R.

December 1, 1969 - About 0200

I went with two of my special guard to the rear of the palace with the main attack force.  With my AK-47 in hand and my trusty ol' Springfield with bayonet across my back, I quietly walk to our line under the cover of darkness.  We near our line and several of our men shout quietly, "Halt and identify yourselves!"

"I'm your leader," I coolly reply.

The 20 men and 20 women in their foxholes salute then focus their attention on the trench line at the rear of the palace.  Just as Intel reported, this trench line is lightly guarded compared to the forward trench lines.  Also, there are fewer numbers of heavy machine guns pointing out the rear of the palace.  However, this line has six machine gun emplacements along it to deal death with.

Since the trench line is not too far off, within accurate firing distance actually, I quickly get out my entrenching tools and dig myself a foxhole from which to fire from.  I set down my AK-47 and take my Springfield rifle in hand.  I peer out the scopes on my Springfield and aim at this stupid soldier's empty head but do not fire.  We must wait for the signal.

The signal comes soon, with rapid rifle shots ringing out from the south.  Our diversionary forces have begun their attack.  Twenty soldiers from the trench line we're facing run to the forward trenches.  Big mistake, I think.

I lay the Springfield rifle down and bring out a flashlight.  I flash the light on and off at each gun crew.  Putting my flashlight away I quickly grab my Springfield again.  The roar of the 3-inch guns pierces the night and one shell goes long, striking the palace walls, taking out a heavy machine gun emplacement on the 3rd floor.  The other shell lands right in the forward trench and screams of dismay and pain come from the trench.  The 3-inch guns keep firing for another 30 minutes and stop as quickly as they began.  The soldiers in the trench line wait a few minutes and come out of their bombproof shelters and poke their heads up and fire in the general direction of us.  But we're hard to spot under the cover of night.

We have the advantage that the palace lights shine right on the trench line which makes our job so much easier.  I target that same stupid soldier's empty head and fire.  The soldier's head explodes into red ruin.  Quickly chambering another round I aim and fire again.  One of my special guardsmen, who is a big buck dockworker, takes his two AK-47s in each hand and blazes away at the forward trench with full automatic fire.  The other rebels in our line fire as well and cheer when the government soldiers drop dead.  The 3-inch guns fire four more rounds of shells into the trench.  Men and pieces of men fly out of the trench as the shells land and explode, spraying jagged pieces of hot metal.

We climb out of our foxholes, with me pausing to grab my AK-47, when the shelling stops and crawl along the ground to the trench line.  I duck into a shell hole when enemy heavy machine gun fire responds.  Our two snipers in our rear take aim and quickly kill the machine gunners with deadly accuracy.

When the machine guns fall silent I scream, "FORWARD!" and advance with our men.  I take aim and shoot a solider square in the chin, blowing his lower jaw clean off.  He tries to scream but finds he can't and drops to the dirt.

Chambering another round in my Springfield I jump into the forward trench.  A wounded government soldier tries to aim his AK-47 at me but a wound in his left arm prevents him from aiming.  I plunge the bayonet on my Springfield into his gut, twist up, and pull the bayonet out.

I aim up and shoot at a heavy machine gunner and have the satisfaction of watching him crumple over.  Whether or not it was my shot that killed him I didn't care.  Cheers erupt from our men and women as they seize three of the machine guns.  I throw myself flat as they turn them around and start hammering at the government soldiers in this trench.  Several smart soldiers drop their guns and put their hands up.  A few of our men rush to take them captive, taking their rations, money, guns, and ammo.

A cheer goes up as our men take the next trench, coming closer to the palace itself.

I love the detail Doc, the way the story fits in with the smaller units of troops. It gives it more of a personal feel.

I watched 'Black Hawk Down' for the second time last night and reading your AAR, brought that film flashing back into my mind. The street fighting, gunmen popping out of buildings etc.

Nice. Grin

I aim to please.  Just wish my muse worked like that all[/u] the time.

Anyways, most of the battle scenes will be fought like this.  I get a lot of ideas from books by Harry Turtledove.  The guy is a genius.  If you haven't read one of his books, do so!  That's an order soldier!

Start with "How Few Remain" and than head on to the Great War series.  Alternate history is so nice, especially when it's believable.

Note: Due to the blood, gore, language, and violence of this chapter, this chapter is Rated R.  This chapter will be broken up into two parts.

Part 1:

December 3, 1969 - 0130

Forward we moved, always forward.  I was tired, sure, but I was determined to win.  My Springfield bucked against my shoulder as I fired at an officer aiming at one of my men with a six-shot revolver.  The officer crumpled to the ground from the gut wound given by my rifle.  I walked up to him and calmly kicked his revolver away and stabbed him in the chest to put him out of his misery.  I pulled the bayonet out of him and wiped the blood off on the wall of the trench.

We are only two trench lines from the back doors to the palace.  However the palace is still a fortress and the back doors are made of steel have been bolted shut.  Machine guns still point out of windows and the windows themselves have been boarded up except for a slit to see out of and traverse the machine gun through.  But with some luck we won't need to worry about that soon.

With another two great booms two more shells explode against the walls of the palace, shaking the already weakened structure.  Great cracks have appeared in some places and our artillery men are trying to focus on those weakened areas, but the palace defenders have gotten smart and have turned off all the lights in the palace, thus making it harder for us to see targets and aim the big guns.

Another two shells crash into the wall and with a thunderous, deafening noise, a side of the wall crumbled to the ground.  "All right," I called out, "I'll be leading the 1st group into the breach.  I want the 3rd group to back us up as we head in.  Everybody forward!"

My men and women, bolstered by the break in the wall opened up on El Presidente's troops with renewed vigor and hope.  Forward we went, taking prisoners as we moved.  I shot another officer right between the eyes and watched with sick glee as his head exploded, showering the walls of the next trench with bone fragments, blood, and brain tissue.

About 0215 -

Into the breach in the wall we went, me at the middle of the pack as my personal bodyguards and Communist party stalwarts surrounded me, forming a huge human shield.  The palace shook from another round of shells and another section of wall crumbled to the ground, allowing more of my men into the palace.

"Okay men, fan out!  This is what we came here for!  We either take this palace or die trying!  My God grant us victory!"

A cheer ran up as the men streamed into the palace's halls.  Soon the cheer turned to "LIBERTAD!  LIBERTAD!  LIBERTAD!"  The cheer erupted erratically but soon became uniform as everyone took up the chant.  I screamed it at the top of my lungs as I charged down a hall with seven others.  One of the men turned a corner, only to get shredded by machine gun fire.  One of the women in my group poked her head around the corner and pulled it back and watched machine guns rounds slam into the wall, shattering the ornate marble on the wall.  "Four machine gunners behind sandbags.  Very hard target.  About 10-20 yards away," she told me.

Thinking quickly I put down my Springfield and grabbed my AK-47 from my shoulder.  I took a rifle grenade from a pocket on my jean shorts and attached it to the barrel of the gun.  I put the gun around the corner, aimed up, and fired.  The grenade landed somewhere and detonated.  I heard a shout but dared not turn the corner.

The dockworker who was one of my special bodyguards took a grenade from a pocket, pulled the pin with his teeth all badass style, and chucked it around the corner.  The grenade landed and exploded, causing more shouts.  He looked around the corner, than turned the corner and fired his AK-47.  "All clear," he announced.

We charged around the corner and down the hall to where a couple of offices stood.  A woman in one of the offices looked up from under her desk to see who it was and I already had my AK-47 aimed at her head.  "Don't shoot!  I am unarmed!" she cried out.

I shot her anyways.  I couldn't take the risk that she was lying.  We proceeded through the offices, shooting anything that moved until we came to the stairs leading up.  Moonlight poured into the wall of the stairwell from a hole a shell blasted.  We were forced to go up the stairs single file because the blast tore away half the stairs.  As soon as the lead man stepped onto the landing he took fire, but quickly danced out of the way and back down the stairs.  He panted with relief and pulled a grenade which he chucked up the stairs.  The little bomb exploded, causing many screams to erupt.  He gone back onto the landing and was shot six times and fell backwards out of the shell hole and to the ground outside.  One of my women charged forward, threw herself flat on the ground, and sprayed fire up the stairs, forcing the troops above to keep their heads down.  Another woman joined her and they both advanced up the stairs, crawling mere centimeters off the floor.  When they nearly reached the top of the stairs they laid their AKs on the floor and shot.  The troops down the hall cried out as bullets hit their feet and they fell.  The two women knelt up and blazed away, emptying the 30 round cartridges fairly quickly.  They reloaded and waved us forward.

Note: Due to everything in this part, this part of the chapter is rated R.  This is the second part of the chapter.

This is rated R for a reason, if you feel the need to, just hit the Back button.

Part 2:

December 3, 1969 - 0230

After 15 minutes of brutal fighting we have only advanced down the hall a couple of yards.  Troops seem to pour forth from the walls ready to challenge us.  To my dismay I have found that the palace was designed to repel swift attacks as there are only stairwells at each end of the building.  When we ascend to the next floor I expect that we'll have to fight our way to the other side of the building to ascend again.

We're now fighting El Presidente's Elite Guard and they will not give up until either we're dead or they themselves die.  I salute their bravery and loyalty, but they are stupid and possibly blind to El Presidente's evil.  That or they're profiting from his evil.  Either way they must be eliminated before we can reach our goal.  My only hope is that El Presidente hasn't 'skipped town' already.  Intel did report a system of underground tunnels heading to the docks.  Even now our forces are fighting to claim the docks, however the reports are not good, and it sounds as if we're losing that battle.

A bullet cracked past my head and I threw myself flat on the ground and shot at the soldier who shot at me.  He too threw himself flat and we eyed each other, seeing who would make the first and fatal mistake.  Just then fresh troops arrived behind him and shot at my people behind me.  I heard a loud scream to my right and one of my fellow female construction workers dropped to the ground with four bullet wounds in her chest.  To my left one of the showgirls in arms with us slumped to the ground, grabbing her right arm as she did so.

The soldiers before us smirked and I looked back, jerked my head back to stare at the soldiers, and nearly puked.  All of the men and women behind me on this floor were dead and the injured showgirl and I were outnumbered 8:2.  The soldier who I had the standoff with jerked his AK-47 up and I understood his silent command.  I rose to a kneeling position, placed my AK-47 and Springfield rifle on the ground, and placed my hands behind my head.

Four of El Presidente's Elite Guard rushed forward, hauled me to my feet, and one of them quickly patted me down, not caring where he touched me, in fact, I think he liked that part.  I wanted to kick him in the crotch with my booted foot but that would mean instant death.  "She's clean," he told his companions.

"The injured one is clean too," another soldier said.

The soldier who patted me down went behind me, violently grabbed my hands, jerked them down and tied them together with some kind of wire or cord.  One of his pals put his hands under my arms and effortlessly lifted me off the ground while the soldier behind me tore my boots and socks off and tied my feet and knees together.  I looked down and noted that he had used some kind of black cord, the same kind that we sometimes used in construction projects to hold things up.  It's thin yet very strong.

The one who lifted me off my feet than hefted me over his shoulder with ease and started walking to the stairs.  I noticed they treated the wounded showgirl with more care because of her injury.  The soldiers took me upstairs, down the hall past several of El Presidente's Guards and I thought that escape or rescue would be impossible now.  They continued on to the other stairwell and took me up to the fourth floor and down the hall to El Presidente's office.

When we entered El Presidente simply smirked and laughed.  "So we meet at last Anna Smith.  You are indeed a worthy foe.  But know that my Elite Guards are now storming through this palace, killing your people one by one.  I assure you that your peoples' deaths will be slow and painful.  Torture is also not beneath my men and they may have some fun before they kill your people."

I sent him a death glare and spat on his clean and pressed uniform.  He looked down, grabbed a handkerchief and wiped it away calmly and didn't show any offense just to spite me.  He did however slap me on both cheeks with backhanded blows and the guards let me fall to the floor.

"Has she been strip searched yet?" El Presidente asked as if it was a normal everyday thing for him.

"Uh, no sir.  We didn't feel we needed to since we patted her down," the guards said.

"Fools!  She could still have a weapon on her!  Now do as I say!"

The guards untied me and grinned at the show they were about to see.  However one did say, "Sorry about this ma'am, I'm only doing this because I'm ordered to."  They than proceeded to take my shirt and jean shorts off, but let me keep my underclothes for some decency.  They than retied my hands, feet, and knees and sat me down in a really uncomfortable wooden chair and tied me to it.

All I was able to say was, "You son of a...," before they put a rag in my mouth and tied it behind my head.  The guards stood back and admired me and I heard some say, "She's so beautiful, too bad she's the enemy."

To be continued...

Author's notes: I probably stepped over the line here in this part but I did mention that this part was rated R.

At long last I may have an idea coming to me.  Be patient and I will post the next chapter.

Note: Due to everything in this chapter, this chapter is rated R.

December 3, 1969 - 0745

I awoke to a bright light right in my eye.  Opening my eyes I found that it was sunlight streaming in through the windows.  El Presidente was sitting behind his desk, filling out some paperwork, with the sunlight outlining him.

"Ah, you're awake," he said.

I of course couldn't respond.  I blinked at the sunlight and thought, the sun offends me.

"Your forces are really determined to rid the world of me.  They fought all through the night and are still fighting.  I salute their...enthusiasm.”

The sound of gunfire and the loud booms of artillery only confirmed his words.  Suddenly the gunfire died away and a cheer ran up from the outside.  I lost faith in my people for a few seconds until El Presidente exclaimed, “They’ve surrounded us!”

I almost smirked at him but kept my face blank.

To be continued when I have more time…
