Escape was written as a challenge. It was inspired by a tropico scenario and a rule in T2GameRules where you would lose the game for having less than a population of 5 on your island.

Here is the challenge. You must build a ship and escape the island. How few additional pirates and captives can you use to escape the island in under 3 years?

Because I use the hoard as scoring for how low a population you use and how quickly you do it, the scenario results in an artificially high score.

My high score is 726500. Can you beat it?

If anyone needs help, e-mail me.

Wow! Four new scenarios, thanks TJ, I'll be trying them out when time permits. You have been busy. Smiley

This is a great little scenario TJ, good fun if you want a quick game.
517,134 is my best score so far, but I think I'll be having a few more tries yet. Grin

Thanks for the compliment. Based on your score, I think you need to lower your starting pirates/captives (in the correct way, of course  Cheesy) How many pirates/captives you start with is much more important than how fast you escape the island.

Hi TJ...yes I see it...beating your score is my objective.

With so few buildings and edicts allowed in your scenario im struggling to use my favourite scams  Sad

Couple of questions:

- Is the description of the starting supply of slop correct ?  Says 10..yet I got 5.

- Are there 10 'game ticks' in each day ?

Edit:.....2nd go now completed.   Grin Grin  Escaped May 1651 aboard a Snow called 'Giggling Girl'.  A score of 761,797 which has gone to the top of my high score table (in extras).

I guess I changed the slop amount, but forgot to change the description.

Yes there are 10 game ticks per day.

Good job on beating my score.  Wink

Thanks for the reply TJ.

I enjoyed this little game.  As a micro manager I pass on big games with a fixed long game length. I passed on your 40 year inheritence scenario cos it would take me months of real time to complete.

Yet this Escape scenario took me an evening.  Careful  squeezing every last bit of productive effort out of the tiny workforce in order to beat the racing clock and the constant countdown on the hoard.  And all the while wondering if the 5 slop would be enough or not.

My score above was actually my third attempt.  My second attempt ended in failure when a scam I tried failed to work and left me stranded.  I remembered somewhere on these boards and in previous games, that when I have no ship and ransom the only shipwright, that a replacement shipwright arrives next month.  Presumably a game mechanism to prevent players getting stuck on an island without any means of beuilding a ship or replacing a killed shipwright.  I tried that in this scenario in order to gain 25% of the ransom to boost my hoard for a better score but also to rid my island of a food eating captive who I thought would reappear fully refreshed and not needing to eat my precious slop.  Any way... the hoard went up $50 (25% of $200) well enough and getting rid of him stopped him eating the slop....but with no replacement shipwright the next month I had to restart.  Sad

Another 'cheat' I did which did work was immediately restarting the scenario if I didnt like the starting mix of male/female workers.  With so few workers I needed the right sex workers to do the critical jobs.
