Captive Paradise is a scenario for nearly any type of player, but it is mainly targeted to those who do not like to spend time kidnapping skilled workers. Enjoy!

FD,
I hope you don't mind, but I checked over your scenario script to see what you had done and I caught a couple of errors.
You missed one of the conditions on the Gold win: game_tick < 25000;
Also, you have no defeat rule. Like that if you don't make the 10,000 within 10 years the scenario never ends. You need:
rule defeat { frequency day;
conditions { game_tick > 36520; player_hoard < 10000; } actions { action lose_game {summary: "/text/dial/endg/loss/mess"; } action execute_once { } } }

Thanks TJ, fixed now I believe. Haven't had time to test it fully but it should work.
Updated:
Declined to add the defeat rule. File is again listed at the start of this thread. No grief, just fun and you can't lose! lol

I'm playing this scenario right now, and I really like it. A few things, though.
1. When the scenarion first started, it gave me an error message involving your defeat rule. I took a screen shot, and attached it to this post. Basically it doesn't like the variable game_year.
2. Looking at your victory conditions code, you have:
rule victory_gold { frequency day;
conditions { game_tick > 10; game_tick < 20000; player_hoard > 9999; } actions { action win_game { level: "gold"; summary: "/text/dial/endg/gold/mess";} action execute_once { } } } // rule victory_silver { frequency day;
conditions { game_tick > 24999; game_tick < 30000; player_hoard > 9999; } actions { action win_game { level: "silver"; summary: "/text/dial/endg/silv/mess";} action execute_once { } } }
Which skips all the game ticks between 19999 and 24999.
Other than these, the scenario is really nice. I forgot to set my hoard to stash maximum when I first started the game, so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get the 10000 gold required, but I'll post my score here and keep trying.

I went through all that, then forgot the screen shot, so here it is.

Thanks, TJ. That's how I thought the script should have been changed, but I felt that it would be best to let one of you people who actually does scripting do it, so I wouldn't have to worry about breaking it.

Thanks for the error info.
That error was from the second update after TJ noticed I had left out the defeat rule. When I found it gave an error I fixed it and the file listed in the first post should be fine.
Note: I just downloaded it myself to be sure and it was indeed the third updated file. (If you have old cached pages it might still show the old file) Or will it?
Anyway, thanks for trying it out. Cheers, FD

FD, thanks for creating this scenario. I was awake all night trying to come up with something similar. I wanted to start out with enough skilled captives and female captives to run all the buildings that can be had in the game. I kept crashing the game each time I ran my script. Maybe I was adding too many characters at one time, or maybe I just don't know how to program. I am just a lowly technician that likes to hack, but now I am thinking I need to learn. Thanks again. I was able to get a good night's sleep after playing your scenario. I was finally able to have one of everything. He he!

Completed in a mornings game play without any of my usual expliots. Gold on 3 July 1710. Not many captives left at game end. Game included my first ever cruise with a Brig which netted a respectable $5650
The difficulty modifier of 14% shows how suitable this is for anyone wanting a stroll in the park.
Recommended for anyone wanting to get immediately into cruising and building.
Thanks Fiery Dove.

This screenshot moments before the first ship in my fleet docked. Its haul triggerred the scenario end but not before I learnt that my fleet had been caught by a Frigate and then fought it out. The Schooner and Brig both took casualties which is unusual as damage is usually restricted to one ship in a fleet.
I was not able to see the reports from the other two ships. This scenario doesnt give you the option to play on after game end. Not unusual but something that niggles me a little iddy bit.
