There are some so-called adult themes, but I don't see why someone your age couldn't play.Implied violence(no blood, no seen violent acts), and cabaret girls(implied strippers, prostitutes.NOTHING SEEN) are about it.Cattle come from cattle ranches that you build, and your people work at.Pregnancy is not really a part of the game, but the women become mothers after the child is born(which puts them out of the workforce for awhile). I've seen"kids" work at the age of 13, but in a third-world country that's common. As far as marriage and child-rearing, it's not important to the game,age-wise, so I don't really know.Life span is varied by quality of healthcare, and other living conditions. If things are bad, even babies will die of malaria, etc. With good conditions, they live 70+ years.
I don't know if this will help with your father, but I am a father of 2 kids, one 3, the other almost 7, and I find nothing in the game that I don't want my kids to see(they sit with me and watch all the time). Everything is implied only, and is actually pretty educational as far as problem-solving, and economics go.I can think of alot worse games than this.Difficulty-wise, it's can range from extremely easy to almost impossible, depending on your set-up choices.

Hope I could help.

I think he should let you play it. It is fun. The adult themes aren't really seen. And it's educational  Shocked:-[ .

If you can't convince your dad to let you get the game download the demo first so both you and he can see what it is all about.

I would say the game has mature themes, but it would probably be acceptable for a teenager.

yeah, i totally agree, tropico might actually help ya with some basic budgeting and problem solving skills.  best idea seems to be to download the demo and check it out with your dad.  btw, it's SO COOL to see parents getting involved in that sort of thing, you have a father who loves you very much.  good luck to both of you!  hope he likes it!

The only thing is that daddy might end up playing with the game while the poor kid is stuck watching and crying.

Hippy tree, don't take this personally, but your father's a gimp. Is he afraid you'll grow up to be a dictator? Ha! At least you'll be happy

You are now about 25. From your posts here, when you were 14 all you had on your mind was babies. I wonder what you think now?
