Ever since installing the patch, my starting captain is always Morgan no matter who I choose to begin with.  Although the log will show the correct captain, the in the ship he is always Morgan.  This isn't right!?!

Hello Killian

Welcome to the forum.

Not a good note to start on.

Has something changed after the patch ?

I patched to (1.02 ) almost immediately i got Trop2. So I didnt notice any difference around the log/captain issue you have highlighted.

Ive assumed that the Anne Bonny pirate king ive selected in my sandbox game has no bearing on the initial Captain who starts on my island.  Like you its always been Morgan.

Would make more sense to have the Captain match with the island King/queen.

Below is a brand new sandbox..and yep... Anne Bonny selected yet with Morgan on the island. Sad

Is there possibly some confusion going on here between the name of the Pirate Ruler and the first Pirate Captain whose sprite you see on the island??

Note: there is no sprite for the ruler. He or she won't appear on the island.

Huh Yes, I believe I'm confused.  So, no matter what ruler I choose to begin with, I will always see Captain Morgan on my island as my beginning captain?  This doesn't make sense to me, but I suppose there is some reason I always begin with Morgan.  Does this effect what captains I can choose from later on when I build my fleet?  They always seem to be the same.

The starting captain depends on what sort of game you are playing. Sandbox, Campaign r what. Inthe sandbox games I believe the captain changes with the difficulty settings, starting cash, or other initial settings.

However, you have complete control over this by editing the scripts.

Killian

Im with you - preferring the concept that on the sandboxes the initial Captain on the island should (or optional choose) match with your chosen Pirate Ruler.

How far have you got in the game ?  Any good yarns ?

I've gotten pretty far, but it seems to move slower and slower the more people I bring to the island.  At that point, I just start all over.  I'm a fan of the Sandbox games rather than the senarios.  I don't like to be restricted.  I'm a free spirit pirate I suppose  Grin
