Okay, now we all know that to make a tourist happy, you need to cover a few things.

1. Accomadation: The better the hotel, the happier he is

2. Attractions: The better the attractions, the happier he is

3. Enviroment: The better the enivroment in terms of beauty/less pollution, the happier he is

4. Crime safety: The less crime there is in the area, the happier he is.

Now the only thing is, how do the rates affect his happiness.

For attractions, if the rate is too high and he/she cannot afford it, the they will just not visit it, but for a hotel, they stay in it regardless of its hotel rate, so shouldn't I always keep my hotel rates to $50?

Anybody know anything bout this?

Your tourists will only show up on your island if they can afford the rates. If you set your rates at 50, nobody will show up.

That is why the rich-poor cheat works.... before the boat/plane shows up you set your rates to $1, so lots of tourists show up.... then you raise your rates to $50 after they arrive.

Does it follow that a tourist who stays at a 30 peso hotel must have a tourism spending level of at LEAST 30 (meaning I can safely set all my attractions to 30)

No. Max spending is not related to hotel rate.... but if your rate is high, fewer tourists will get off the boat. Once the boat arrives and announces how many tourists are there, they are stuck paying the price, even if you raise it.

You do realise that max spending is not related to hotel fee. I guess you guys are right, that less people will get off the boat to come to the hotels.

But then we can use tourism ad and national geographic to attract more tourists right?

Well.... National Geographic is a one-shot thing...
The Tourism Ads works well, as does The Headliner. Mardi Gras is OK too, as long as you have enough police to offset the higher crime.

All of these will raise your tourism rating and bring in more tourists.
