recruiting a new captain

i can't find the #recruit captain# tab in the edict window
it's just nowhere to be found

Hello Aru

Your first post...welcome to the boards.  Ask any questions you want and post any pictures you are pleased with.

Follow the 1, 2, 3 below in the picture.  Should have you recruiting away....if there are any Captains available.

This is from my current game.  There are only a certain number of Captains available in most games. As ive already got all those recruited there are none left now. The icon in '3' is greyed out - none left. Maybe if the icon is missing its because there are none in the particular scenario you are playing.

Ok and if I lost four captains how do I get other captains or can I promote officers to captain?

Careless    or is this 'if' I lost 4 Captains ?

- You cannot promote any officer or pirate to Captain.

- Captains who were lost at sea in combat will return - usually within a month.  They wade ashore somewhere on your island.

- If you have lost a captain due to a mutiny, or hand to hand combat/assasin (or hunger?) then they are gone for good.

- If the game isnt offering any more captains - then you have had it.

I have not lost a captain before...had plenty of sunk/wades ashore but never a dead captain.
