One quick question.

Is there a way to change the actual island in the editor like you could in Tropico 1?

thanks in advance.

Hi CW3BMB

Welcome to the boards.
You are scripting/mapmaking? Does this mean some more maps and stuff in the future?

Im a player with loads more to learn so dont know the answer.  One line of thought...Can Tropico1 maps be used in Tropico2?

We need TJ or Brf or...loads of others..to answer

Hi,

I am not that familar with Tropico 1, but as far as I know you can only generate islands "randomly" from the few settings you set in the map editor. You cannot edit the land from there.

Thanks TJ

Hmmm  Sad  no interesting maps on Trop2 like those on Brf's  Cool Trop1 site.

Is there any way a map from Trop1 could be imported into Tropico2  Huh

Maybe then the Trop1 map editor could do the creating bit and import that into Trop2  Undecided

Can anyone rule that out ?

When I try to start a map in the editor. I want to place roads, but since there are no roads as yet, everytime I try, I get the message that the road must be connected to an existing road.

How do you get past that?

You must place the pirate palace first. It includes the first road section.

I think that answer is definitive for T2. Since T2 uses a different "engine" from T1 (& RRT2), I don't see how a T1 map could port to T2.
