Welcome to a scoreboard for the Tropico2 Campaign. 16 episodes that start out as little more than training sessions. By episode 5 you are well into the game and will be needing to understand the finer points of captive control....especially those haulers at the two docks. Brand new players or old salts. Post your scores in this thread. High or low. I will update the image below on a regular basis. Screenshots of your medal/score preferred. For those with problems doing this - then details of score will be fine. Claim as many times as you like. I will accept multiple medals on the same scenario from the same person provided they dont knock someone else off the table. Ideally each scenario will have all six slots filled and with different names. I especially hope this encourages new players to take part in the Forum. Last Update 27Aug05: Cleverduck claims a gold and I knock off one of his other golds. High or low score - doesnt necessarily indicate good or poor play. Completing a missions objectives fast might have meant you didnt spend time amassing loads of points. Amassing loads of points and a bronze may indicate you are having too good a time a plundering to have bothered with the mission objectives....

Aaaarrrrgghh (that's Aaaarrrrgghh, not Aaaarr)! Sure wish someone had done this a long time ago before I ran through all the campaigns and scenarios. Come to think of it, I'd already gone through the campaign before I stumbled across the Cafe so it wouldn't have made any difference. Cafe Dave posted walkthroughs on the campaign which I found helpful even though I'd already played the campaign. For one thing it explained why I only got Bronze in a lot of the episodes even though I racked up some impressive scores. It turns out there are time limits on getting Gold or Silver which aren't mentioned in the episode objective and when hoard size was not the only objective I held off on completing all the objectives until the last minute in order to get every dollar possible into my hoard, since it is the only thing that carries over to the next episode. Big score, Bronze medal, Bummer. Dave's walkthroughs would be a great help to noobies and would help even the playing field against salts. I can't seem to find the post now, though. Little help here? A couple of questions: Do medals count or only high score? What constitutes cheating? So far as I'm concerned nothing other than cheat codes is an actual cheat. Emptying out the bars when the boarding call is sounded would be a valid function of the SP (Shore Patrol), so why not? Swindling dumb swabbies out of their money was common in every port I was in, so why not? The object of this game is to teach that dishonesty is the best policy, isn't it? :)The one thing I'll concede might be a cheat is reloading, but if the game designers could have built in handicaps to discourage reloading if they wanted and since they didn't I tend to look at reloading as part of the intended strategy

Agree with all that.
Im not tempted to replay them except maybe that one where TJ and Cafe Dave both got bronzes.
For each colour medal there is a high and low score. So score and medal combine. So your high scoring bronzes will compete against other bronzes and not against silvers and golds. With time being a factor in some scenarios its very possible that highest score golds could be out scored by silver and bronzes.
To all: You dont need to do the lot. If you only played a couple and have a score to post then feel free to contribute it.

Is there a competition for low score as well as high? I may have a shot at achieving fame after all

I played for bronze on mission 7(going for maximum hoard) so I started this one with 8000 gold.
Other than that, no cheats, no scams, and not a whole lot of micromanagement.
Lack of captives was my biggest problem, even though I didn't bother with an iron industry. Once I got some KIAs to turn into skeleton haulers the labour shortage eased somewhat. If you get the lumber industry going early, one shipwright is plenty.

I just noticed this thread. I started a second time through the campaign but haven't completed it. So far here are my higher scores or higher metals.
3 Gold 5556 4 Silver 9623 (lower score, but better metal) 5 Gold 29370 7 Gold 35075 8 Gold 21194 9 Gold 14839
I guess that leaves CafeDave only beating me on #2...

So you are still playing. Not as much as I was earlier this year, but I come back to it now and again.

Hi there, This is my screenshot for Jamaican Rum. I only just found out about this thread and when I looked back at the previous episodes the last saves were quite a way before the victory and I can't be bothered to do them again so I'll have to just start from episode 5 I'm pleased with the hoard I was able to amass. I got lucky with the wealthy captives I think edit: I attached a jpg file to this message but its not showing. How do I post it?

Hi again,
Just finished Diplomacy & War. I like loadsa cash so I played right up until the very last moment to get the maximum hoard possible so only a bronze medal, but I was pleased with the outcome:

A lowscore for gold in the "Last Golden Age". It could be worse:- I had already played the campaign twice, before finding this website. I have all the episodes saved shortly before victory, so have been recruiting captains, throwing parties etc. to increase my score for your highscore board. Grrrrr I still got the lowest score on this one.

Is the campaign score table is worth making sticky ? Yep, sure is. Good idea.

Pirate defence silver medal LOW score (despite recruiting captains for the high score).
I remember playing it and the same thing happened - I reached the defence criteria before I reached harmonious relations (after I had betrayed all pirates of a nationality and was looking for captives to release).

Smuggler's Cove high score. I'm playing the campaign again with new techniques, including extending cruise times by sending ships out not fully crewed.

Treasure Fleet silver (make a hoard of 10,000). I paused the game just as a ship's plunder made the hoard to 10,000, then ransomed all possible captives.
