Purging Kulaks since 1928

This Idea was inspired by The Village, which I recently saw. The premise is, basically, 5 families tired of rampant crime and a raging civil war in a certain North American Republic, decide to purchase a boat and sail to the uninhabited isle of Tropico, and start a new life free of crime, poverty, and meritless wealth - this new land would be one where they could reap what they soe. This is also roughly based on what really happened in Liberia after the civil war in the USA...

In 1859(had to magically move back time to avoid anachronisms in world politics by the time the island became a metropolis capable of international relations...), These five families landed on their island.

The Families were:

Sanchez- Mexican Peasants forced off of their land and into a stream of dead-end work that too them into the northern part of the country

Baraca-Mexico City Bankers whose life was turned upside down when revolutionaries raided their bank and kidnapped them. They escaped and fled to a small town in the north.

Domingo- Dominican Painters looking for an adventure

Garcia- factory workers out of the job, looking for a new life in America

Sullivan- (disowned)Son and Daughter-in-law of American Philanthropist and social experimenter Abner Sullivan III

The Sullivan son and his wife were sent by Abner to a small peasant town in Chijuajua Mexico. They posted flyers all over town about the expedition, it was there that the 5 families met for the first time. After getting to know one another, they left for the Port and began their jorney

Who would imagine that more than 100 after they first landed, Tropico would be a thriving, but unstable island Republic...Ruled by a Council of decendants of the original Tropicans - trouble's on the horizon though. For Years citizens not with the Founders bloodline have been treated as second class citizens... Reformism is in the air, but a Charismatic General in the Tropican Army may sweep it all away and destroy the 100 year old dictatorship of the Founders without any consideration of the democratic process.

To be Continued
