Alright, I'm working on my first scenario, and I have some very basic questions, requests for code snippets really...

How can I? :

#1. Make it so that randomly, but fairly often, a message pops up and a random amount of captives (between 10-15, maybe) dissapear?

#2. Make it so that a message pops up, but nothing happens...

#3. Cause buildings to be demolished when a message pops up (by a "hurricane" or another natural disaster, as in Tropico 1).

Also, is it possible to make it so that a sound of your choice plays when a message pops up? I'm sure that there would be some way to load it into the Tropico directory ... ?

More Trop2 scenarios in the offing now thats what I like to hear.

I cant help you im afraid. Im in the phase still where id rather play em than make em.  I have looked at scripts to try and understand what happens but dont recollect anything like 1 nor 3.     You are going to take away my slaves....15 just disappear...meanie.   Cry

TJ has a scenario which has loads of  Cool random features. If its random advice look at his 'Random Adventures' scenario script.

2 sounds easy enough - theres a number of scripts which display messages.  Maybe use one of those but without any other variables being updated ?

Hope you get your answers and you post some more...especially one with a scenario attachment.  Cheesy

Last Played Tropico2 in Oct2004...after 9 months of playing it.  Not bad value for a £10 purchase.
