Ive found a forum on the game but wonder in any Tropican's/Pirate lovers have played this series .  Any views ?

I have played the third edition.  I enjoyed the trade aspect but got bored by it very quickly.  All you do is go from port to port trading and sometimes getting attacked by other merchant ships or pirates.  There is no city building involved.  I think I played once and had enough.

Obviouslly Mela you haven't played it at all. The game Rox! You can be a pirate or a trader or better both at the same time. You can build large cities with population up to 50.000 apparentlly.  I only could do 30.000 . There are so many options in the town hall ,church, your own trade house ,arsenal, arms trader, tavern etc. The game is really complex. It's apredecesor of Port Royale. The Ascaron has a good forum about the game and there is also one very good one at www.drunkenscotsman.com . For me Personally Tropico 1 Patrician 3 and Anno 1503 are the best 3 citybuilding games ever. Would definatlly like to share any views with anyone on Patrician. One tip always start with piracy as trading in the begining doesn't bring a lot of cash. And on some forums you can find exact spredsheet about how much money you can made with each thing you sell. The good thing is you cant sell just the expensive things becouse if you'll be wanting to increase your homepopulation you will have to eventually supply cities with cheap wheat in order to sell them expensive skins or wine. With one word the game is an absolute musthave!!! over and out

I only own Patrician III. I love being Lord Mayor, a renowned trader, and the worst pirate on the seas at the same time...  Wink (Quite a challenge keeping it up with all those people identifying your ships though  Undecided).
