Is Cafe Tropico having problems ?

I havnt been able to access the site much for the last few days.  On two recent occasions I was able to log on but then not do anything else  (including not being able to log off).

The stats on the information centre suggest I was not the only one not able to access the site.  Far fewer hits etc.

Whats up ?  Anyone know ?

I'm using Firefox, and it occasionally will tell me that the connection has been refused by dynmic3.gamespy.com. Usually the top and left frames load, but not the main frame.

CC

Think we must view via different pages - I know what you refer too but I only view the main page without the top and left frames.

I shortcut directly into the site by a favourite link to the log in page
http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~tropico/cafe/index.php?board=;action=login
or via the main discussion board
http://dynamic3.gamespy.com/~tropico/cafe/index.php

Something has been up though - wonder If Cafe Dave knows

What you describe happening to you with IE (first couple frames loading, but not the main board) is exactly what I've been experiencing with Firefox. This makes me doubtful that it's a browser-specific problem.

Did you try accessing the site using IE on the same day you were successful with Netscape?

Yes. I used IE first. It didn't work, so I used Netscape.

In that case, I stand corrected. Recently I've only tried IE when Firefox wasn't working, and in those cases IE didn't work either. Apparently both of those browsers have problems, then.

Although reliability has been pretty good in the past few days, so maybe the problem has been fixed.

Bump...

Were the problems from late September a prelude to the recent denial of service /hack that Cafe Tropico has has just gone through ?

Cafe Dave.... thanks for the email response you did me off the site via e-mail ...any update on recent events ?

Yes, there was a hack into Gamespy and the whole system was shut down.  See this thread for more details.

There seem to be glitches in posting still with posts not being posted and blank pages returned.  I may have to update the software if this keeps up.
