Ever since I installed Paradise Island I've been having this problem and I haven't found anyone else having the same one by searching around here but hopefully someone will be able to help me..

If i have the map editor turned on, at the start of every year all of the pervious year's info (ie happiness, profits etc) gets reset to zero. It's not a huge problem, but if I'm playing a scenario where you have to get a certain amout of revenue from say tourists, and I'm halfway through the game and I want to use the map editor for something, I can't because my score automatically gets reset to zero if i turn the editor on. I've tried reinstalling everything. Is this a bug that anyone else has? Is there any way to fix it? It's just frustrating and it would be great if anyone could help me out.

That is NOT a bug. That is the way the Editor works.

Your description is not quite exactly correct however. Just turning the Editor on does not reset the score - at least I don't think so.

The Editor is intended for modifications to be done before the game begins. Therefore, using it to make changes during the course of a game has all kinds of problems and can be done only within a narrow scope.

First, one always needs to be "paused" before turning the Editor on.

There are two ways (that I recall off-hand) to trigger the map regeneration process:
  • Save the map
  • Let the game run past a year's begining

The map regeneration process resets all the Almanac data (except the date) to a "begining" status, resets the weather pattern, and resets ground elevation patterns.

Since it isn't a bug, it surely can't be fixed.

Oh ok thanks for the help. I just assumed that since it only started happening after I installed Paradise Island it was a bug. I guess I'll just have to deal with it.
