Wow!  This is a fun senario but dang I can't win it.   Tongue

Of course I'm not all that good at playing but it's fun none the less.

So....any pointers?

Well, in case you didn't notice, here's the thread from the competition on that scenario--the winners give brief synopses (synopsises?) of their strategies.

The common element seems to be this strategy:

Rake in cash from your hotels and tourist traps for a few years, get your alternative economy built, and THEN demolish the hotels.

For ridiculously high scores, high population seems key... I will probably abandon my current game and give it another go 'round.

It's fun to charter an accountant
And sail the wide accountancy,
To find, explore the funds offshore
And skirt the shoals of bankruptcy!

It can be manly in insurance.
We'll up your premium semi-annually.
It's all tax deductible.
We're fairly incorruptible,
We're sailing on the wide accountancy!

Me too! In fact, i just did, managed to raise my personal best to 678. Not enough to beat MisterFrey's 866 points, though. Sad

759--would have been good enough for 4th place in the actual competition. Probably should have bought in a few doctors earlier and went with the "contraception ban" edict, as my economy was very strong but I just didn't quite get the population (although at the end, over 500 of my 560-ish people were happy!)
