You don't have to. Personally I find healthcare and education(especially) pretty important in the beginning. You can oversee or help in the duties of citizens and housing though until we get a minister for the job.

 OFFICIAL COMMENCEMENT

   I, Capitaligous, by the powers vested in me, officially recognize the reestablishment of the League of Tropico. The 2009 Edition of Cafe Tropico's League of Tropico will officially begin on February 18, 2009 at 12:00 Noon Pacific Time (3:00 PM Eastern). After this set time, sethwbcl91, President of Tropico, will be officially recognized as El Presidente of the Island of Tropico.

  Well, there you have it folks, the official commencement of the League of Tropico. Seth, it doesn't start until 12:00 Noon Pacific Time, but you can make preparations before the official starting.

Position: Minister of Defense

Why: Because i believe that all tropicans have a right to an opinion, and as long as that opinion is acceptable to the government then they should be allowed to express it. When i was growing up i had a dream and in that dream i carried a gun, and with that gun i protected my Presidente.. and maybe accidently shot the odd farmer. But that was only a couple of times and im sure this wouldnt realy happen.. not too often anyhow. I  am well drilled in modern Tropican military tactics, For example i have often successfully used the 20 soldiers to 1 rebel farm attack shootout tactic. I have also successfully used the much more difficult to grasp and master 20 soldiers against two rebels farm attack shootout tactic!. as you see i am a master of military planning and defense and would greatly appreciate you considering me for this role, lastly i would like to note that i do own a gun, and it is coincidently aimed at the palace. I only mention this for information purposes and in no way intend to intimidate you and as they say " force your arm ". Nope, not at all.
