I'll follow El Meck's advice and post my replys in here from now on.

Well El Presidente, don't worry. Once we get those wharfs and the logging camp up, we can fire those people to get them employed in a position where their labor will bring money into our economy instead of only using it up through infrastructure jobs. So we have a potential 6 job slots in the wharf/logging camp industry filled. And yes El Presidente, I did mean the prices at entertainment venues on our Island. Perhaps once we get multiple entertainment venues, we can raise the prices & quality to attract the higher ups who want a more "fancy" type of entertainment.

That's my revision for now El Presidente. Lemme know what you think of it.

New idea:
- are the two farms in Cayo Mambi currently changed to grow pineapples?
- so if they are and when the fishermans wharfes are completed there whould be enough possible input for a CANNERY  Cheesy
- and if it whould be realized there whould be the requirement for a high school (the high school have to build first also to staff the church/palace)

what about this ?  Cool

I agree with El Meck about getting a Cannery ASAP. The more money, the better. However, for the Cannery to produce a surplus, we have to have sizable money reserves and have to be ready to see a 4-8 year lull in our Cannery' economic output. Before we built the Cannery, I think it would be best to get the rest of our basics up first; we still need a church and I think we should get our wharfs & logging camps up as well. Then I think it's best to have our high school up before the Cannery, that way once the Cannery is up, people can begin to be educated right away.

Thats it Mr.Eastwood.
The cannery should be build  near the year of 1965.
By build it earlier it whould do more damage then usefull ouput to our economy.

Think we reached a mutual agreement.

After the cannery & church are up, I think it would be wise to only spend money when we need to. An example would be for more housing should it come up. I doubt food will be an issue. We should hold off any unneeded spending until our cannery seems to produce, or is close to producing, a positive income. I also suggest having a hefty amount of cash, I can't stress that enough, in reserve; even enough to hire a few foreign workers should our population be less-than-thrilled to get the ball rolling.

That's just a preliminary opinion. I would need to see where our income stands when we get close to that point to see if its even viable to do something like that. We may have to accept our treasury will be in the red for a year or two.

Yes think a problem could grow up by a too slowly growing population...
So may we need a migration office ?

Well, Meck, once we get more jobs rolling, the immigration should steadily rise. We will, eventually, need an immgration office, though.  Wink

The new dock in Sonora is a good idea bc it will help to ship the output of the cannery and the logs.
But for a more productive exportation of goods we should build a 2. Teamster office near the 2. Construction office.

Also the new planed Apartments in Cayo mambi (in my oppinion only; bc i am not the Minister for such matter)
are needed and quite well placed.

A new economic map will follow........

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL LOT MEMBERS BEFORE WE START THE SIXTIES

  • Check out the screenshot below, about the new Enrosian districts (states). This will be major in the next decade and beyond. (Tropico has its own rules) You can also apply (in the Enrosian Employment Agency) to become a District Representative! (More info by PM)
  • Please note that members of Enrosian Government get paid for their services (Tropico used to do this, but has cancelled the program). This "pay" can be used to purchase a house on Enrosia, donate money to the Enrosian treasury/churches/charities/entertainment industries. More information can be found here: http://tropico.strategyplanet.gamespy.com/cafe/index.php?topic=9872.msg199182#msg199182 Since this falls within the Department of Finance's authority, Mr. Eastwood will be in charge of this. (PM me if you have questions or want more info)
  • Check out "The Republic of Enrosia: Introduction and Information" & "The Republic of Tropico: Information" boards often. Seth and I try to update these after each half of a decade goes by, so check these boards often, they can answer many of your questions and keep the other boards from getting cluttered with questions.
  • The United Tropican Nations needs a new Secretary-General (To replace JakiusCaesar). The job doesn't provide the power to run an island, like the El Presidente job does, but it does give power to make UTN-Wide changes to the diplomatic/economic policies of BOTH islands. This person is also over all of the UTN Ambassadors (when we get some). However, you must be elected by both Tropican and Enrosian governments, as this is not an appointed position. (More info by PM)
  • Final Building Priority Plans and/or maps for the 1960's will be needed by the Tropican Minster of Citizens and Housing (El Meck) and the Enrosian Minister of Urban Development (Che Brasher).
  • Feel free to start "recruiting" in any area of the web or in the real world itself. To join the LOT as a minister, a person does not need to own Tropico! Anyone who is interested in government simulations can join now and be filled in on the technical aspects of the game at a later time.

That's all from me for now. Seth, feel free to add things you think are important to my list here.

We will be starting 1960 pretty soon.  Smiley

As of now I don't have too many points to add. Tropico will be splitting into districts/cities too, so Ministers feel welcome to state which area of the nation that you are from. Otherwise, updates for Tropico will be posted tomorrow (Thursday the 12).

I moved the post below from one thread to another to help keep it organized. I didn't realize I had posted this in the wrong thread, my mistake  Tongue

MOVED (originally posted Mar. 07th, 2009): I'm worried about the happiness level of our people. Because our economy is robust and our treasury is full, I think prority needs to be given to housing. I feel we should increasing housing to satisfy both our current population as well as the expected population from all the buildings slated to be built, as well as all labor slots open, yet still unfilled. I have a nagging feeling that housing scores are keeping the overall happiness levels low, low enough to cause one person to become a rebel. Should this trend continue, we may have to think about increasing our military presence on the island. This could throw a wrench in my plans to help boost our economy even more.

I'll be Minister for District 4: Del Maya Cap.

UPDATE: Truely, El Meck & my services have helped bring our country out of the poor house. However, as stated above, I feel we need to dedicate the 60's to improving the quality of life for all Enrosians (lol I keep wanting to say Tropicans  Tongue) as well as updating economy from Gathering to Manufacturing. These two steps can be done at the same time, in my opinion, so I feel our money should be spent on these things first:
Housing
Entertainment
Healthcare
Manufacturing Jobs

I realize we have the 1st three things, I'm simply stating we need more so that ALL Enrosians have access to decent housing (Tenements, at the least), entertainment hubs, & healthcare facilities. This, along with the "Food For The People" edict (El Meck's department, so it's ultimately up to him) should help raise the happiness a great deal; enough, I hope, to prevent further people from joining the rebel's cause. Along with options to move their station in life by getting a highschool degree & decent manufacturing job should also raise the happiness as well as job quality. Therefore, I am budgeting 50% of our GNP for this.
Total GNP: $42,000 (Rounded Up From $41,946)
Budget 50%: $21,000

However, I am planning for the worse as well and I am budgeting 25% of our GNP to be reserved for, and spent on, National Security of all types; Armorys, Gaurd Towers, Military Bases, Military Edicts, Miltary pay/pay raises, & finally, housing.
Total GNP: $42,000 (Rounded Up From $41,946)
Budget 25%: $10,500

Finally, we can't forget about everything else on our plate; building up our infrastructure & general sector (Roads, Construction/Teamser Offices, Gov. Buildings, etc) further as well as continuing to expand our base economic sector (Resource Gathering). It's my opinion, however, that this has been built up greatly the last decade, & as such I am budgeting the remaining 25% of our GNP for this.
Total GNP: $42,000 (Rounded Up From $41,946)
Budget 25%: $10,500

OVERALL: This is a combination report, from your Minister of Finance, for the decade of 1960 as well as the next following 2 years (before the NEXT updated 2 year report). Once that is brought to my attention, I will post my budget once all other Ministers have given their opinions about the country's progress thus far.

Also, I will get working on the Minister Pay set-up as well as working on my section of the "Decadal Report". I have yet to download the game & run it to do so. Cap, if you could PM me with the most current "Saved Game" so I can do that I would appreciate it.

Don't worry, they're still coming, Meck. The Construction Crews are going WAYY too slowly for my liking, and I'm probably going to need another construction office to speed things up.

The Dock's still coming...we're going to need it in the near future.
