Matrix Games is proud to announce that it has acquired the rights to publish the former award winning Talonsoft line of wargames. The agreement includes the rights to publish, update and modify some of the most well-respected wargames of all time.  Included in this agreement is the full Battleground series of games, the Campaign series, the Operational Art of War series, the Battle of Britain and Bombing the Reich games as well as the Age of Sail.

Some of you will recognize the name Talonsoft from the time when that company provided technical support to PopTop's games. Perhaps PopTop's way out of date website still has some links to Talonsoft.

In any case, the idea that someone has acquired this old line of games engenders a glow of hope that some living company will "acquire" Tropico and do something with it.

Agreed, the only chance we have of seeing Tropico resurrected  Cry

I wonder how you determine a "value"... on a out-dated and discontinued game  Huh

My biggest fear is that any updated edition of Tropico... would require getting a new PC  Tongue

In regards to Talonsoft, I once played the heck out of The Battle of Britian  Grin

I learned computer wargaming on the Battleground Napoleonic games. At a certain point, one goes from pushing the game routines to learning what is behind them. Oh my! Crack a book to find out if the game is "accurate" ?? ?? What a concept!

It surely can't happen when the game is laced with quasi-science fiction "thingees." Who knows how "true-to-life" games such as Grand Theft Auto are?? I suppose only the designers and programmers -- which makes one wonder which rock they live under. How do you suppose the artists and coders gain the experience to depict accurately the brutality involved?? ??
