Any fatal bugs on Mucho Macho like in the original Tropico?

I got the game as a present and am very wary of installing it since I bought the original Tropico in high school and it crashed my system within days.

Is there any patches that should be on for sure?

The first post in reply is quite adequate.

However, it seems useful to emphasize that the Mucho Macho edition has all the patches issued included. So as far as anyone can advise without knowing all about your personal PC system, the "fatal bugs" you experienced back in your recently closed High School days have been fixed in the Mucho Macho edition.

No. The original release of Mucho Macho was 1.51, which still requires the 1.53 patch.

I think the one bundled with Tropico-2 was 1.53 already.

1.53 "fixes" some things, but only one "bug" is identified, and that is in a single scenario. So 1.53 is "required" in the sense of having the most complete version. It is not "required" to have a version free of fatal bugs which crash one's system, excepting possibly the problem with the one scenario 'Marooned!'.

 

To be precisely accurate, I should have said " ... has all the needed patches ... "
