Just thought I'd post my initial feelings of the game...I am not impresssed (yet). It seems to me the game is trying to combine RTS and Sims type games built upon a theme of pirate RPG...but it doesn't really come together.  I am only on the 9th campaign and I am already bored.

Well I suppose it does happen that there are games that not everyone likes.  Maybe you haven't enjoyed enough pirate films!

The main gameplay feature of Tropico2 is the micromanagement.

Last Played Tropico2 in Oct2004...after 9 months of playing it.  Not bad value for a £10 purchase.

Sorry, I didn't mean to say it was a bad game or 'dis' anyone who  loves it. That was not my intention.  I've been a full time gamer for 6 or 7 years now and I guess I'm a little jaded.
As far as the micromanagement comments go I would call it nanomanagemant/microenticement instead;D.

I know what you mean,  I've been a (usually unemployed) gamer since 1999 and nowadays expect more from games and less ready to learn all the controls and techniques before I find out if I like a game. Wink

(I didn't think you WERE saying the game is bad etc.)
